First time here and it was during Happy hour. Very busy place so glad that we made reservations. Waited only short time after our reservation to be seated. Food was just awesome. Chips and salsa were great. The Salmon was simply superb with great flavors on every part of the dish. Will come back just for that dish. Service was spotty. Waited a bit for initial approach and then meal came out about 2 minutes after chip... View all feedback.
What BMWZ8 doesn't like about Baja Haus:
Overall decent food and drinks. Unfortunately the Pork Al Pastor tacos were disappointing. Dry cubed pieces of pork topped with a decent pico. With a little effort in the kitchen using fresh pork al pastor these could have been better. Feels like the food is starting to deteriorate and attention to detail is slipping. We frequent Baja Haus 4-5 times a month and this was the most disappointing meal we have had. View all feedback.
We've been here half a dozen times and the food never disappoints. It's very good and absolutely reminds us of living in San Diego and regularly eating baja fish and shrimp tacos. The fresh made chips and guac are also fantastic. Best of all for my wife are the numerous gluten free options available (the also have many vegan options). We come for the food, but the atmosphere is consistent with baja Cali, as are the drinks. It's well thought out, overall. Bathroom walls are adorned with posters of men and women at the beach and/or in bathing suits. Given the location in Wayzata, it's not surprising some of the servers and clientele are a bit snooty, but the other positive aspects of Baja Haus outweigh this minor issue.
Always efficient and delicious. The empanadas are especially great! Parking: Easy free parking in the lot in front of the restaurant.
Stopped today for a quick small plate and a beer on our way to a party. We ordered the queso fundito with chorizo and chips with a side of guac. The server was super friendly and present at our table, and all of the tables in our section. The food here is always great. Very fresh and flavorful. They have a nice little bit of outdoor seating and a good-sized bar area.
Such an amazing experience everytime we visit the Baja Haus. The staff is always on top of.their game. Tami and Josh always make sure we are taken care of with a smile. It's nice to know that when we go out we get service the way it use to be with owners hands on, the Baja Haus is on point! Thank you so much. Also, check out their new out door seating seating area. Very quaint and private.
