Overall, good/great. Amazing views, great service, food is very good, rooms are good. Horseback riding is amazing, trails are great. Just a few oddities: tp is single ply like a 7/11. Beds aren't great, just ok. Doors have a very odd old style locking system with a wooden key 100 years old, and are loud. And if you're in the main house, it may be louder than expected. Overall it is very good. For the cost though, not... View all feedback.
What Me Pi doesn't like about The Swag:
Won't see me there and won't recommend based on employees. Reservation/registration representative Hannah's behavior is not in line with a place that charges and touts to be elite. Her language is vulger, she's immature, she says one thing and does another, she's dishonest. Don't want to associate with her or anything she represents. View all feedback.
The perfect place to go to relax and get spoiled. It also happens to be at a beautiful location.
Absolutely beautiful!!After you pass thru the gate, it's a couple mile drive around the ridge top.I remember visiting to eat as a kid in the 1970. It's completely the same, but it's been completely upgraded and updated. They have fully restored the Cabins, greeting, house, kitchen, and lodge.Shick Builder's have done an amazing job with Davids attention to detail. The hiking trails are the same, so make sure to go to the meadow.
I booked a two night stay at the Swag for my husband's birthday. It was a perfect all-inclusive experience. I recommend coming during a warmer climate so you can have the full enjoyment of the grounds and all the amenities. If you are a foodie, please bring your appetite and pace yourself!Continental breakfasts, elaborate brunches, bbq picnics, hourdurves before a dinner with many courses. I brought tip money with me, but they strongly discouraged tipping. They suggested tipping at checkout. Nonetheless, it was the best service I have ever experienced. Consistent housekeeping with turndown service. I loved all the staff. It was worth the cost.
We did not stay as overnight guests. We only came for dinner. Even though we only came for dinner, the manager, Mark, gave us a tour of the whole place. This was great because we really want to come back as weekend guests. The food was excellent. The cocktail menu is just insane in originality and pure deliciousness. The mountain views are gorgeous. The service was also great. Everyone from the servers to the chef greeted us. If you like elevated cozy rustic chique, you need to come here. Thank you Sandra!
Absolute magic. If you want to unplug and disconnect from it all this is the place. They take care if absolutely everything. The hiking is wonderful. We just finished a three day stay at this very special property. The experience was outstanding. It's like taking a step back in time. The service and staff make you feel like family. We very much enjoyed meeting all the other guests. We had so many wonderful conversations. We highly recommend the picnic at Gooseberry and the BBQ. The BBQ and Bluegrass evening was my favorite! It was magical.
