Patrons appreciate the friendly staff and good selection of beverages, including rotating guest ales. While the food offerings are generally simple and sometimes inconsistent, diners rave about the delicious Sunday roasts and delightful homemade desserts. Despite a few service hiccups, visitors enjoy the personalized experience and community spirit that this establishment exudes. The Racehorse stands out as a vital gathering spot in the area, drawing both locals and travelers alike, creating lasting memories in a picturesque setting.
I recently dined at this restaurant with my daughter and her family, and it was a delightful experience. The Sunday roast was absolutely delicious, and the Yorkshire puddings were outstanding. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the desserts were heavenly. I will definitely be coming back again in the future.
We visited The Racehorse whilst holidaying in the area. We love the fact that it’s a community owned pub. We received a warm welcome with our dog and very much enjoyed our meal. Good value for money too!
After being highly recommended by a frequent customer at our pub, The Rumburgh Buck, we decided to visit this restaurant on January 13th. However, we were very disappointed with our experience. Despite being listed in the Good Beer Guide, the restaurant only had one very strong beer and a Porter available. The bartender seemed unaware of the beer selection, but did mention they had three lagers, cider, and a local scrumpy called Giggler. It appeared that the establishment may cater more towards a younger crowd. The beer options were not suitable for a lunchtime drink, and the alternative Porter may not appeal to everyone. Unfortunately, this was not the dining experience we had hoped for and we will not be returning. It is a shame that we cannot bring back a positive review to The Rumburgh Buck.
This restaurant is truly exceptional. The volunteer staff and the food they serve both deserve 5 stars. We ordered the roast and it was delicious and beautifully presented. The homemade dessert was heavenly. It was definitely worth every penny. The customer service is top-notch. Visiting this community-run pub is a must, and the village should be proud of the incredible pub, staff, and chef they have.
My friends and I are visiting the area and looked for a local pub for lunch. Whilst we were only an hour walk away it took us a lot longer after a few wrong turns. We arrived at the pub and was greeted by a friendly team, we had an amazing lunch and the team helped us get back to our accommodation. I would definitely return again if I was in the area.
