Was Michelle Williams Galindez at Closed a mag?
During our travels, we chose Doughboys based on its listing on Google Maps. We arrived on a Friday evening, just in time for Happy Hour, and the staff greeted us warmly. We ordered the Cheese Curds and Wings, both of which were fantastic! The pizza was also delicious, featuring a thin and crispy crust. I highly recommend this place! View all feedback.
What Marie Maly dislikes about Closed:
Terrible experience. I hadn’t been here in two years, and it's clear that the quality has declined. The first pizza was burnt, and the breadsticks were also overcooked. We were informed that they were out of pizza sauce, so we couldn't order anything that needed it. Unbelievable! View all feedback.
We’ve always been fair and civil customers, tipping appropriately in the past. Concerned about the unexpected charge, I called to speak with the manager, Dave. When I asked the waiter about the gratuity, he explained that they get penalized for not charging it. I had helped Dave arrange tables and even cleaned up after our meal, stacking plates on the empty pans. Unfortunately, when I spoke with Dave, he was rather argumentative and disrespectful, even claiming that the children had made a significant mess — which was simply not true. Picking up a few baby snacks hardly constitutes a mess. Eventually, he assured me that he would process a refund once I informed him that it is legally required to disclose a 20% service charge. He mentioned this on the phone, yet I never received the refund he promised. Sadly, we have no intention of returning. If this business continues to treat customers poorly, it won’t last long. I feel sorry for the waitstaff who have to work under such a disrespectful and dishonest owner/manager. It's quite disappointing.
This is my first time dining here, and I absolutely love it! As someone with Celiac disease, I can honestly say they have the best gluten-free pizza I've ever tasted. I visited during lunchtime and appreciated their combo offering pizza, salad, and soda, which is a great option for those who eat gluten. Dave, who I assume is one of the managers and was running the whole place by himself today, was incredibly friendly. His warmth and willingness to engage in conversation made a big difference for me. Thank you for a fantastic experience! If I’m ever back in the area, I will certainly stop by again!

Wow. What an off-putting experience. We ordered two 16 pizzas with an estimated pick-up time of 6:04. We had arrived by 6:00 and were obviously not surprised when the pizza wasn 't ready, so we went to the bar for a quick drink while we waited. By 6:15, I was starting to wonder if there was a minor hold-up. Little did I realize, my next 40 minutes would become increasingly more frustrating. The person who was seemingly in charge asked our name to check on the pizza and said they were a little backed up but ours was just about to go in the oven . Reasonable for a Saturday night, I suppose. Interestingly, I looked around and noticed there were only 4 tables of patrons dining-in. Another 15 minutes passed, and the manager apologized and said our pizza was just going into the oven and will take 10-12 minutes. I found this interesting as 15 minutes before, he said our pizza was going in the oven. Now, I have taken a lot of math classes through my years of schooling and those time estimates simply did not add up. The manager, appearing frustrated and frazzled, went back to the kitchen to a staff moving at sloth-like speed and came back to say their night has been a disaster. After ANOTHER 20 minutes passed, he said the two 16 pizzas would be free given our mind-numbing wait. Normally I would be incredibly understanding as I am a very calm-tempered individual, but I had an 83 year old grandfather and 5 month pregnant wife ready to eat 45 minutes ago. Unfortunately, my disappointment only grew after finally receiving our pizzas (after another 5 minutes). Firstly, one pizza was 12 as opposed to the ordered 16 pizza which was further confirmed by another examination of our receipt. As I needed to get back to feed the family and the pizza was technically free at this point, I decided to simply bow my head in a state of pizza-deprived melancholy, leave the restaurant with my dad who patiently waited with me through this chaos, and drive back to my grandpa 's house to deliver our cheese-topped disappointment. In a final gut punch, the 12 pizza, already 88 square inches smaller than the originally ordered pizza, was charred and flavorless. One may be asking at this point why I didn 't give a 1-star rating. In my opinion, I like giving small-businesses the benefit of the doubt. Further, I was able to have some good conversations with my dad while waiting for what made the time it takes to play a full game of Risk seem like a blink of an eye. Maybe they really were having a rough night. Regardless, I will not be back. Thanks for reading.
