Ordered a pizza online about an hour ago. Checked my email and saw that they canceled my order, so I gave them a call. When I asked why the response? I don 't know, we 're really backed up . I then asked why we weren 't called, and again was met with I don 't know I normally love Doughboys, I 'm not sure I want to spend my money there anymore.
Wow. What an off-putting experience. We ordered two 16 pizzas with an estimated pick-up time of 6:04. We had arrived by 6:00 and were obviously not surprised when the pizza wasn 't ready, so we went to the bar for a quick drink while we waited. By 6:15, I was starting to wonder if there was a minor hold-up. Little did I realize, my next 40 minutes would become increasingly more frustrating. The person who was seemingly in charge asked our name to check on the pizza and said they were a little backed up but ours was just about to go in the oven . Reasonable for a Saturday night, I suppose. Interestingly, I looked around and noticed there were only 4 tables of patrons dining-in. Another 15 minutes passed, and the manager apologized and said our pizza was just going into the oven and will take 10-12 minutes. I found this interesting as 15 minutes before, he said our pizza was going in the oven. Now, I have taken a lot of math classes through my years of schooling and those time estimates simply did not add up. The manager, appearing frustrated and frazzled, went back to the kitchen to a staff moving at sloth-like speed and came back to say their night has been a disaster. After ANOTHER 20 minutes passed, he said the two 16 pizzas would be free given our mind-numbing wait. Normally I would be incredibly understanding as I am a very calm-tempered individual, but I had an 83 year old grandfather and 5 month pregnant wife ready to eat 45 minutes ago. Unfortunately, my disappointment only grew after finally receiving our pizzas (after another 5 minutes). Firstly, one pizza was 12 as opposed to the ordered 16 pizza which was further confirmed by another examination of our receipt. As I needed to get back to feed the family and the pizza was technically free at this point, I decided to simply bow my head in a state of pizza-deprived melancholy, leave the restaurant with my dad who patiently waited with me through this chaos, and drive back to my grandpa 's house to deliver our cheese-topped disappointment. In a final gut punch, the 12 pizza, already 88 square inches smaller than the originally ordered pizza, was charred and flavorless. One may be asking at this point why I didn 't give a 1-star rating. In my opinion, I like giving small-businesses the benefit of the doubt. Further, I was able to have some good conversations with my dad while waiting for what made the time it takes to play a full game of Risk seem like a blink of an eye. Maybe they really were having a rough night. Regardless, I will not be back. Thanks for reading.
Pizza is great, The are adding pasta/Italian dishes to the menu, but i haven't tried them yet. Pizza is highly recommended.
Very unorganized, messed up everyone's ordered.. messed up the bill and very slow
My family has frequented Doughboys over the last couple of years. The recent changes to the interior and game area are nice. The kids like the new games. However, our most recent visit left us wondering about the changes to the food. Our appetizer came out burnt, our pepperoni pizza was lacking pepperoni and the BBQ chicken that we have always ordered did not taste good. I’m not sure why the pizzas are being changed, but I would recommend going back to the old recipes. The chicken on the BBQ chicken pizza did not taste good and there was barely any BBQ sauce on the pizza. Disappointing visit and I’m not sure if I will be going back.
