One drawback is that the restaurant does not accept the coupons that are distributed to residents of Waukee. I was informed by the Subway staff that this is due to corporate not reimbursing the location. The team seems to be doing their best with what they have, but they've mentioned that certain items haven't been delivered, which prevents them from fulfilling regular orders. On the plus side, the location is really nice and clean.
The lettuce in our sandwiches should have been thrown out. It was noticeably brown and tasted off, which ruined what could have been a good sandwich.
I placed an order for pickup and double-checked the receipt to ensure the sandwiches were correct. However, when I got home, one of the sandwiches was completely wrong—I ordered steak but received chicken. I called four times before anyone answered. Since they weren’t busy and seemed distracted on their phones, I had to drive back to Subway to get the right sandwich. It’s disappointing how difficult it seems to find even decent staff these days.
I ordered two sandwiches and was very disappointed with the service. Five employees were standing around doing nothing while only one person handled a phone order, and it seemed no one could start working until the call ended. Our sandwiches sat waiting for 11 minutes while another employee chatted and distractedly adjusted his clothes instead of helping. When I brought this up, the cashier responded rudely, accusing me of being impolite because they were busy. Meanwhile, the line behind us grew longer, and sandwiches for the food bank piled up because only one employee was making minimal effort, just putting mayo on two sandwiches—a task that could have waited. Even after I stepped away, the staff member continued yelling at me across the counter. Overall, the service was terrible, and the staff clearly lacked basic professionalism.
