People throw the term "hidden gem" around a lot to describe restaurants. This cafe is truly deserving of the title. For such a little cafe tucked into a plaza with no signage, it is amazing. The borsch soup would make my Ukrainian grandmother proud. It's all handmade with a very welcome atmosphere decorated to feel like a home. Maybe it's the nostalgia in me, but this place is heartwarming. View all feedback.

I was in the little Plaza off Erb St. to drop my daughter off for and appointment. I noticed Teremok Cafe.Curious, I walked in and immediately knew I had found something. The aroma of borscht filled the small space. I ordered borscht and potato and onion perogies--my first experience of either--and enjoyed a memorable lunch. Their borscht was rich and flavourful, a truly wonderful bowl of soup. My new favourite soup. I've since returned and have recommended this little gem to anyone I know who enjoys great food.

I love going to this place because of their freshly brewed coffee. The cafe is clean and not noisy. My friend and I regularly meet here for breakfast. We love the BLT and Western sandwich.

If you like sauerkraut perogies this is the place to go! The cafe is neat and tidy and spotlessly. Order at the counter and the food is brought yo your table. Definitely will go back!!!

Decided to try this place after driving past and it is a hidden gem in Waterloo. There is an assortment of authentic dishes you can choose from, dine-in or take-out and you can tell it is all homemade. We decided to eat in and had their borscht, fresh perogies, and pelmeni. A definite must try!

Teremok Cafe is a truly heartwarming hidden gem tucked into a small plaza. With a nostalgic ambience, homemade borsch soup, flavorful pierogies, and impressive customer service, this cozy spot quickly becomes a favorite lunch spot. Whether enjoying a classic sandwich, a hearty shepherd's pie, or a delightful breakfast, every dish is tasty and well-presented. The cherry pierogies and vegetarian options are highly recommended, while bulk orders for take-out ensure you can savor the deliciousness at home. While the cafe may be a bit quiet and run down, the warm welcome from Galina and the exceptional food definitely make Teremok Cafe worth a visit.

This restaurant is wonderful, with delicious food. We bought some soups to take home for our daughter, and she devoured them. She really enjoys their food! Everything is homemade and you can taste the love put into it. I highly recommend this place.

Went for a breakfast date with my wife and chose Teremok Cafe. Galina is a super host a very soft spoken person. Loved the ambience of this place...was quite cozy. Ordered Borsch (soup), Perogi and crepe. Borsch was a standout (its made by Galina family everyday). Have tried Perogi at multiple places, but it was best here (again made by Galina family). Thank you Galina for hosting us. Definitely recommend to others.

If you're looking for authentic slavic food, you've come to the right place. Galina's food is the most comforting, delicious food I've ever had. She had everything you need breakfast, lunch and dinner. She makes them all in house, and even makes frozen portions if needed for large bulk orders. The service is fast, and friendly. I would eat here everyday if I could.Vegetarian options: Has variety of vegetarian menu options.Kid friendliness: Has kids chairs and even some toys.

What a lovely restaurant with tasty authentic Ukrainian/Russian cuisine! We had a wonderful lunch complete with fresh kompot and blini. The atmosphere is relaxing and Galina is an excellent hostess. We will be back again!

Stopped on our way to Niagara Falls. We all enjoyed our dinner, kid and adults. We liked soup with meatballs, delicious perogies, pelmeni, and tasty home made kompot.
