Best brunch spot in KW hands down. We got the whole 9 yards sweet, savoury, freshly squeezed OJ, and the home fries were actually fresh, crispy, and seasoned! Quality of food is 20 out of 10. I moved from Toronto and the aesthetic makes me feellike I never left. Owner came to check on us who was a super nice gentleman. Service was amazing. Highly recommend. I willdefinitely be back! Tried this place out for the first time today. Overall a good experience. The restaurant is bright and a pleasant change from what it was before. The food is a bit on the pricey side, more than other breakfast restaurants in the city and the food wasgood. Excellent portions. I did have a problem with my eggs, they came out hard and rubbery when I ordered them over easy, butonce the staff found this out, I had new eggs at my table in less than five minutes. The real issue here, was that it took overten minutes before I could tell a staff person about the issue with my eggs. The service isn't great. We were often left alone, not once asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks and once we asked for a refill, it took a while before we got it. So, overallpretty good food, a good atmosphere, just not great service. I'll try again, assuming it was just an off day the eggs in thephoto were the bad ones.

A small disclaimer: don’t expect a quick brunch in Uptown on Halloween weekend Sunday, especially with kids. We found this out the hard way with three children in tow. Overall, despite the circumstances, we had a good experience. I ordered the fried chicken Benedict and my husband had one of their skillets, though we were disappointed to learn only late in the meal that the French toast was sold out—definitely not the fault of our wonderful server. Both dishes were tasty and well-portioned. Our two older kids tried the rainbow pancakes, which looked fun but neither enjoyed due to a sour aftertaste, possibly from the food coloring. Our server was excellent, going above and beyond to check on us during our unusually long brunch. Aside from brunch turning into more of a lupper, it was a good experience overall, enough that I’d return when I’m in the mood for a slightly fancier brunch than the usual affordable classics available throughout KW.
Pür Simple is a popular breakfast spot in Waterloo. The staff are friendly and attentive, though service can slow down during busy times. The menu offers a unique variety of breakfast and lunch options you don't often find elsewhere, like blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes combined. Portions are a good size, and while the value might be debatable, it's definitely worth giving a try.
We visited Pür Simple for a late weekend lunch, just before their kitchen closed at 3 pm. Their hours are 7 am to 3 pm daily. We were seated and given menus right away. Since it was late, we decided to share the avocado toast ($16.50). The toast was decent, though I've had better; however, the home fries were crispy and flavorful. After adding some salt, they were perfect. For drinks, we ordered the Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice ($6.50) and the Pür Mimosa ($7). Both were good, though the orange juice was a bit sour, and the mimosa tasted more like plain orange juice. While I understand they were preparing to close, the waiter seemed to rush us throughout our visit. The food is on the pricier side, but for us, it was just average. Perhaps it was our choice of dishes or an off day, but this time, the experience was simply okay.
