What eric zou dislikes about Potzone Hotpot:
This is hands down the worst hotpot restaurant I've ever encountered. There was only one server on duty, which made everything incredibly slow. My orders never made it to my table, and the prices were absurdly high. I regret spending $35 here—totally not worth it! Do yourself a favor and stay away! View all feedback.
This is a fairly new hot pot place in waterloo. This restaurant replaced a previous hotpot located in the same place. I do not know if this is just a change in name or ownership. The service was good and friendly. The food is as expected in a hot pot restaurant. However, we did not receive all the items we ordered. The ordered meats take a while to be served. The sauces are limited, we also actually had to wait awhile before it became available on the table, and the table felt disorganized. The pop is included in the price. I did not see any spices I could use to flavor their basic hot pot soup. There is no good ventilation so chances are, you would smell like the food you are cooking. Being a buffet, I was expecting the menu and a piece of paper to fill-up, that was not the case. I was going for another round and had to find my way to the counter to do it. I find the price too expensive for the experience.
I was very impressed with this restaurant, and will definitely be visiting again. The owner and employees were so kind, we came today for dinner and the owner was super understanding about our friend who is vegetarian. After seeing the negative reviews we were skeptical, but I think it was due to being overwhelmed on their opening day. There was free unlimited pop, they were really attentive to our order (we had a huge group of 8 people), and the ingredients were so fresh and the quality was great. Highly recommend the spicy soup base. While we were eating, the servers kept coming back to our table to ask how we're doing and to ask what else we want. They were fast with our orders and at the end after we were stuffed, they cut up fresh watermelon for us to cool off with!
Absofruitly amazing. Had great service, and even gave us dessert for free! Highly recommend :)Oh, and they have a student deal for $19.99. probably the Best value all you can eat that you can find in WaterlooI wish I could give this place 6 stars. I was so busy eating I forgot to take pictures!
We intentionally avoid going to eat on the first day of Grand Opening 'cause we know there would definitely flood of people especially that was a Saturday. So we went on Monday evening and turned out it 's a good choice. The food out there is pretty good and it 's noteworthy mutton is served! We ordered a lot of meat and the waitress had some casual talk with us with smile. The atmosphere is very enjoyable! Overall, we had a lot of satisfaction and would definitely come down again!
