Chen's - Waterloo

I was quite disappointed by the high prices and the small portion sizes of the food. The atmosphere also left a lot to be desired. While it may be one of the most authentic places in town for those willing to spend more, I'm used to receiving generous portions when I order.

This is a solid choice for Chinese food near the university. The portion sizes are slightly pricier than expected for what you receive. I tried the flat rice noodles with beef, and it was quite satisfying for takeout, boasting great flavor and a generous serving of beef.

Chen's consistently provides an amazing dining experience! We arrived with nine friends and were seated perfectly so that we could all be together. The food is outstanding—make sure to try the chicken with black beans and the sweet and sour chicken!

I ordered rice noodles (without skips), chow mein, fried dumplings, and beef curry to serve 6-7 people. The portions were quite generous and offered excellent value for the price. The food was absolutely delicious, and they prepared my order quickly—everything arrived within 30 minutes. Although I haven't explored many Chinese restaurants in the area, this one exceeded my expectations! I will likely order from them again soon.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant, and the customer service was the worst I’ve ever encountered. I discovered a brown hair in my meal, but the waitress insisted it might belong to me, even though I'm blonde!
