Pretty good! Got 3 M7 Bogda Laghmans and the V6 Koktat Laghman. Apparently, the noodles can get pretty spicy (although that wasn't our experience) so if you don't tolerate spice well, you can ask for no spice. It's pretty filling and got a little greasy at the bottom of the bowl but overall, a positive experience. View all feedback.
What Shirley Yu dislikes about Bogda Restaurant:
The noodles with chicken and potatoes had good flavor and a nice kick of spice. However the overall experience was disappointing. The rice dish we ordered only came with 3 pieces of lamb and for the price we paid for was not worth it. I'm not sure if I would come back here again because the food was mediocre and the lack of basic customer service. View all feedback.
The owner of this restaurant is incredibly kind! While visiting a friend in the area, we found out that restrictions had just been lifted to allow outdoor dining only. Even though this place didn't have outdoor seating, we had heard great things about it and decided to give it a try. We ordered dumplings, kebabs, and a recommended noodle dish, and the food was absolutely delicious. Despite getting takeout, the owner went above and beyond by allowing us to borrow chairs and a table to dine outside. He even provided us with black containers to use as bowls and gave each of us a water bottle to stay hydrated in the hot weather. We are so grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to us by Bogda Restaurant. Their food is amazing and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Waterloo. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
The hospitality at this restaurant is amazing, as is the food. My friend and I arrived 20 minutes before closing, but dine-in service was closed. Despite being hungry, we decided to eat outside. The boss heard us and, after checking with us, opened a table for us. Since there were no glasses available, he gave us a couple of cokes instead. In addition, he gave us extra portions because we were so hungry. The food itself was hearty and delicious, especially the fall-off-the-bone chicken. This restaurant is a must-visit if you are looking for a hearty and satisfying meal.
The food was amazing. The handmade noodles, delicious lamb/beef dishes, and both salads we ordered (cucumber salad and "Uyghur salad") were fantastic. The owner was friendly and I was happy to chat with her after our meal. I can't wait to try more dishes from the menu.
A hidden and very good Uyghur restaurant near UW campus. I am of Uzbek origins where we share many dishes with Uyghurs. I miss my mom's cooking and I crave laghman from time to time. Not all Uyghur restaurant make good laghman, but Bogda's special laghman is really really good. It might look a bit expensive, but it is actually not because they serve it in big portions. I also tried mantu, which was good and I recommended it, but the laghman ? oh boy.. laghman is happines and I was so satisfied with their quality ??
Incredible food with generous portions! I had the noodles with beef and mixed veg. The noodles are absolutely amazing, hand made with just the perfect chew. The sauce is savory and flavourful but really spicy. The meat and pepper slivers seem almost an afterthought and i could have happily eaten the noodles without. The lamb skewers were probably the best lamb i have ever had. Cooked perfectly with just thr right amount of char but wonderfully soft and tender. Highly recommend. The portions are very generous, perfect for sharing or taking home for seconds the next day if your appetite is not as huge as mine.Parking: Parking is road side and can be hard to find.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaraunt is on the pedestal of a condo building. There is a wheel chair ramp but the pedestal is narrow with a peirlous drop.
