Asakusa - Waterloo
Asakusa
Description
Asakusa has received a 3.7-star rating in this food review, with mixed feedback from diners. While some enjoyed the flavorful food and unique condiments, others found issues with overcooked eggs, inconsistent visuals, and undercooked gyoza. Despite these flaws, the restaurant boasts generous portion sizes, fun ramune drinks, and friendly service. Vegetarian options are limited but satisfying. Overall, Asakusa offers a mix of delicious dishes such as Tonkotsu ramen and mapo tofu don, along with caring service and gluten-free rice noodle options, and is worth a visit in University Plaza.

The food was great. The portion size was just too much for me, I'm packing half the bowl of ramen I had for later. The service is great too!Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options but they were good
My favourite ramen place, food is always amazing and fresh! Love the green onion pancakes and the curry croquettes for appetizer, and pork bone ramen or spicy red dragon ramen, love the sukiyaki beef don as well (pictured with review) Caring and quick service as well! <3Food: 5/5
Very nice Japanese ramen. Glad to see this in Waterloo and so close to the campus. Good noodle portion.Food: 5/5
I appreciate the delicious ramen! It's even better than what I've had in Toronto. They offer a gluten-free rice noodle option for those who need it. I highly recommend trying the Tonkatsu Shio Ramen.
