Feedback
Angie's restaurant has been a staple in the community since 1962, known for their fantastic breakfast, brunch, lunch fare, and top-notch pastries. However, recent reviews have indicated a decline in quality, with complaints ranging from uninviting food presentation, slow service, and issues with food quality. Despite the negatives, Angie's continues to attract loyal customers who appreciate the friendly staff, clean atmosphere, and delicious fresh baking. While some may not be entirely satisfied with the dining experience, Angie's reputation as a family-run business that has served the community for decades still holds strong.
Had to check this place out and glad we did! Stopped in for a late lunch, food was good, drinks are way over priced. Best part was the cinnamon buns and brownies, best I have ever had!!Seating is tight, booths need to be bigger! Was very busy when we were there, staff were friendly, but seemed a little chaotic with staff.
We were in Waterloo for the weekend and chose Angie's because there was no line up to get it and we wanted to try a local restaurant vs a chain like Cora's or Symposium. Mistake number 1. We waited to be seated as there appeared to be no one in charge of new arrivals or cash desk. When we did get seated we were not given menus for at least 10 minutes. We waited as the staff seemed busy taking orders to tables and we didn't want to disturb them. Mistake number 2. We gave the waitress our order and continued to wait. We over heard the 3 tables on either side of us either send back food that wasn't cooked properly, get the wrong food order or wrong drink order. Our meal came before our drinks! Never had that happen before. The bacon was very greasy, not crispy at all! The rest of the food was good temperature and flavour, I even got a refill on my coffee, but by then the restaurant was less than half full. Would probably not go back, maybe to pickup some cinnamon buns that looked good but we didn't try. The staff said they were short staffed and some were in training, Excuses and Apologies should be the name of this restaurant.
Great fresh baked goods but so so place to eat at. Have been there 3 times over the last year - twice and most recently for breakfast and once for diner. Staff are very nice and friendly, place is quaint - breakfast both times was okay - dinner was so so - find the prices a hit high for the diner scene. That said the fresh baked goods are amazing. And there are some in Kitchener Waterloo that will swear by it and make it a tradition. I am just not one of those - not likely to go there again.
I have been going to this restaurant for most of my adult life, although not as much recently. Today, I decided to give it a try. The service was attentive and good. There was plenty of coffee, and the eggs, toast, and jam were delicious. However, the home fries were not up to par - they seemed reheated and were too hard to eat. As someone who is now handicapped on one side, navigating the trip downstairs was difficult. The restaurant's layout made it nearly impossible to maneuver through the narrow hallway, especially with extra chairs and high chairs blocking the way. The restaurant is in need of a renovation as it feels outdated. Despite these issues, I would consider returning.
Came to Angie's for breakfast, and ordered the breakfast special, eggs benedict with schnitzel and a half portion of french toast. Could not finish everything since the portions are huge but it was delicious. Our waitress was really friendly as well.
