The service at this restaurant is very friendly. The atmosphere is that of a great, old-fashioned diner, and the Philly sandwich is the best I've ever had. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place. Overall ratings: Food 5, Service 5, Atmosphere 5. View all feedback.
What Baron Lio dislikes about Rodney's Kitchen:
At 3:40pm, we found the door locked despite the posted break lasting from 3-4pm. We called from outside but nobody picked up, and the line was busy. Peeking through the window, we couldn't see anyone inside. An away note on the door would have been helpful. We took a 15-minute detour only to be left disappointed. This review is for a dinner meal. While passing through Waterloo, Iowa from St. Louis, we decided to check out Rodney's restaurant based on the Google reviews. And we were not disappointed! We ordered the Catfish dinner which came with fried okra, greens, cornbread, and french fries. The portion sizes were generous and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that on Sundays, Rodney offers free beer or daiquiris, as well as a free meal for kids. This was a fantastic dining experience and we highly recommend it. Keep up the great work, Brotha! As for kid-friendliness, the restaurant offers free chicken tender strips and fries for children.
Went in for a quick burger while going through town. Burger was juicy and flavorful and is served with freshly made fries with light Cajun seasoning. Would come again next time I'm in Waterloo. Thank you!
