Because i payed for the room already through my bank, Then i got an email from you, telling me there was no available rooms on the dates i had booked, So i could NOT get my money back, as that is your policy, I had to UP GRADE, which is a rip off system, because on Booking.com it is possible to get a refund!!! Please dont call me a liar. The coffee filter had mold in it.. its a shame i didnt take a foto..I cleaned some of it, purely out of unbelief and the receptionist took it away and cleaned it...Please dont underestemate my exsperience...And NO, i want be coming back to visit you or recommend you. I paid a lot of money for my room, which I didn't really need but had to upgrade because I booked on line then they told me there was no accomodation on the date I required so I HAD TO update. 170 euro for one night. I've never paid that amount of money in my life before to sleep. The room was dusty and the coffee machine had mold in the filter. Reception sorted it out quickly but it was for me a terrible experience I'm sorry to say. I live in the NL and Van der Valk is very well know and loved there. They could learn from each other, just we all have to do.

My dad had eaten there twice and wanted to treat me. The butter was improved with lemon, which gave it a fowl taste. Starters were OK, but the Filet American was cut in bits large enough for a Fondue Bourguignone, no parsley and very little capers. My dad 's Thai Tartare was full of vinegar and lacked totally of cilantro, and was cut in the same way. The fries were very small and under-fried To top it all, I ordered a glass of red Saint Julien, which was full of dregs. Maybe a one off ? Unfortunately, the same experience happened to a friend of ours two days earlier (we only found out later). Nah! That 's a pass...
