Description

The reviews for this restaurant are mixed. While some diners praised the culinary experience, perfect food preparation, outstanding wine pairing, and friendly, knowledgeable staff, others were disappointed by the bland and uninspiring dishes. Some even had to ask for wine halfway through their meal. Despite the mixed reviews, the restaurant offers a unique and joyful dining experience, with some diners ranking it among their top choices in the city. The atmosphere is formal, serene, and classy, making it a hidden gem in the DC dining scene. While some aspects fell short compared to Michelin star restaurants in Europe, many diners still found the overall experience to be enjoyable and memorable.

Great culinary experience? The food was prepared perfectly and the wine pairing was on the point. The service and the level of detail was outstanding. The staff and the sommelier were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I will definitely revisit andrecommend to others.

Went for my best friends BIG birthday with my husband and hers as well. Made it know many times including having made 3 calls to the restaurant to make sure things went seamless. It didn't. I called during the times they said to, and spoke with someone whotook my information and said I would receive a call back and never did. I had my husband call and he received a call backregarding the wines (unavailable), but 2 options were offered as a substitute. He also called and clarified the complimentarysmall bites and champagne offered in the salon before dinner. Another disappointment. There was no champagne, nor was itoffered. Only a small bite that was dry and we then were ushered into dinner to our table. We arrived early and had a drink atthe bar. We didn't anticipate this or we would have gone somewhere else fprior. I was not happy, especially, after arrivingearly and calling to verify what would be offered before dinner. The sommelier was informed we had a couple of bottles set asidefor us, wherein he then told us they were the only bottles and no more of those bottles could be ordered. Definitely not whatthe sommelier on the phone said. He said they had plenty of both we had set aside. Ordered a 3rd bottle from the list and it wasnot good, this after a couple from the list we tried to order were not available. The sommelier said they would update theirlisting soon. The explanations of the menu items were very poorly done and the kind gentleman tried his best to remember whatwas brought out. We relied on listening to other tables. Service was not great and I almost had a course dumped in my lap as theserver reached over my husband to drop it in front of me. The food was very underwhelming to say the least. I really enjoy thefood at Kinship, so not sure why this is so lackluster. Overall, $2000 with tip for a party of 4 for a birthday that was noteven acknowledged and left me upset with how everything went overall. And, if you try and email the restaur

By far our favorite restaurant in D.C. that we tried during our trip! We decided to celebrate our anniversary here and we are so glad we did. Each dish was so perfectly crafted and exceptional. The chef does an excellent job in making sure you taste all theelements of his dishes. We enjoyed every single single dish wouldn?t change a thing. They do have the option to upgrade yourfirst dish to Caviar and I have to say it?s a must! The chef and his wife were even so kind to give us an anniversary candle asa gift and we can come back and refill it on our next visit. So thoughtful! They truly made our experience unforgettable. Ihighly recommend Métier to any and all! You will not be disappointed. We can?t wait to return next year!

Just like a state within a state. This restaurant is hidden under basement of another Michelin star kinship. Formal, quiet, serene, classy place to dine out. We were there this year for the Valentines dinner. You can expect good things there.. AMichelin star experience at par with what is expected of them. However, I can?t rate it as 5 star once I compare the food andmenu with Michelin star restaurants of Europe. Specially France and Netherlands.

Insignificant and remarkably underwhelming. Like other reviewers have said, the food was inventive but uninspiring. Two of the 5 courses were watermelon and slices of tomato with nothing special. Be prepared to leave the place hungry as even supplementaldishes were absent. The staff, while efficient, seemed totally careless and dry. We were not even offered the option to winepair. If we didn?t ask halfway through the meal to get wine, we would have had nothing. Barely eye contact. The place was quietand plain vanilla. The darkness just amplified the numbed experience. Will not come back or recommend.
