Delicious food that is absolutely worth the wait! Their desserts are fantastic. I highly recommend this place for friends and family. On the downside, they could use some air conditioning as it feels a bit stuffy inside. Also, parking can be a challenge since it's in DC.
One word is enough for me to describe this restaurant -pretentious.The food was average, the service aloof and scattered. Will not be back. Do not recommend.
Really enjoyed the tuna, squid, quail and pineapple as the dessert. The tuna is my favourite as it was well balanced with aroma of fruit and nuts (roasted banana, orange and sunflower seeds). Crispy crust with juicy tender inside fish. The touch of lemon grass made the dish so memorable and distinct from other restaurant. They rotate their menu with the season.
Our children organized a dinner at Kinship to celebrate our anniversary during our stay in Washington, D.C. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and congratulated, setting the stage for a perfect evening. The wines were exceptional, and the appetizers—squid, mushroom, and asparagus salad—were delightful. For the main courses, we enjoyed roast chicken, veal, and scallops, all of which were superb, followed by outstanding desserts of rhubarb pie and opera cake. The service throughout the evening was impeccable. If you're seeking a complete dining experience, I highly recommend Kinship.
I had a fantastic dinner at their cozy bar area. I really appreciated the creativity in each dish. If you find yourself overwhelmed, like I did when choosing what to order, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and ready to help you create the perfect meal. The asparagus salad was definitely the highlight of the evening, featuring a unique blend of flavors that I've never experienced before and that will linger in my mind long after last night. I usually share three or four courses with my partner, but dining alone, I managed to finish three dishes on my own. I don't see that as a complaint, as I often find that when dining solo, I only have room for one dish when I wish I could enjoy more! Kinship will be a must-visit on any future trips to the city, and I will gladly recommend it!
