Overall, Iron Gate appears to be a hit or miss but worth considering for special occasions.
We had so much fun here for our anniversary! We were a little nervous due to the super fancy nature but everyone was so nice and didn’t make us feel out of place and the food was so fun and delicious. They even gave us an extra desert because it was our anniversary: we had a great time at DC’s oldest restaurant.
The chef's tasting was amazing. Too much food for our table to even finish! The service was great, very attentive and friendly and knowledgeable.
Our party of 3 shared the Family Meal of a variety of smallish plates. All fresh, delicious. There was actually too much food, but ordering this way allowed us to try everything which is what one wants to do at Iron Gate. It's best not to leave anything out. Due to weather, we decided to sit indoors which was just fine. Good service and as always, look forward to the next visit.
It is an elegant atmosphere with excellent food. The canopy outside is worth sitting in the heat. Excellent staff.
Great ambience but food was average. Some dishes were good, but many were mediocre. A restaurant this expensive needs to hit on almost everything.
