Description

Located in the heart of Georgetown, Il Canale offers the most authentic Neapolitan pizza in DC, featuring thin-crust pizzas made by our Italian pizzaiolos and cooked in a wood-fired oven imported from Italy. Our menu showcases a variety of dishes from our native country, including antipasti, pastas, seafood, meats, fresh bufala mozzarella imported from Italy, and more. The full bar serves select Italian wines in an attractive blue-lit setting. During warm weather, guests can enjoy dining on the sidewalk tables or rooftop terrace with views of Georgetown. Don't miss our lunch menu which includes delicious paninis made with our fresh bread baked in our wood fire brick oven, along with four new pasta items. Join us for happy hour from 3-6 pm Monday-Friday in the bar area, where all drinks are available at half price. Visit Il Canale, the 2nd restaurant on the left coming down from M Street.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch after walking around Georgetown and it did not disappoint. Since it's a pizza place, I ordered their mushroom Pizza with white sauce as I'm not a big fan of tomota. Pizza came out quick, it's sharable but if you're hungry you can eat an entire one. I'd have to rate it a 8/10 because the white sauce didn't really have much flavor and I know it's thin crust but it was a bit too soggy, I had to use a fork to help pick it up. I'll try the pasta

One of a kind and the staff were great. I was the photographer for a Yelp event and the food was great from what I was told. Not one person had a negative experience and for those who visit this location before had a great experience. Authentic and unfiltered tradition that I would say yes I will visit on my personal time and enjoy. It is also a beautiful space. Parking is not the best but a nice neighborhood for the time I was there as in the view at the canal.

The most amazing Italian restaurant hands down! As someone whose visited Italy this restaurant made me feel like I was there and the food was astonishing. The food is so authentic and tastes very fresh. The gnocchi was so soft and made to perfection! The pizza was truly napoleon and was amazing as well. For dessert we got the cannolis of course which I?d recommend for a sweet tooth!!

Pizza itself was good, nothing crazy/special. Mentally you want to be eating pizza in Italy, but you’re just eating it in DC. Host was top guy (Forza Nerazzurri! . Waiter was a little rude, but I had no problem with it, typical Italian guy with a little attitude always good for the culture.
