Was J B at Good Stuff Eatery a mag?
My hesitation about eating here was that the portions would be insanely huge, the food would be greasy, and I'd leave bemoaning what an awful place. I was so wrong! The portions were PERFECT!!!! There wasn't a single bad food item. The onion petals, fries, burger, so darn good. Loved sitting outside to eat. You get that DC feel. Check out it. View all feedback.
What Trish Marangon dislikes about Good Stuff Eatery:
Honest-to-god burger that hits the spot. I got the basic Farmhouse Burger. The beef patty was juicy, and the veggies were fresh. I liked the complementary sauces (I got the mango and chipotle mayos: mango didn’t particularly taste like mango, but was slightly sweet and went well with the meal). Also appreciated that the bun was well-toasted, so I didn’t disintegrate into a mush while you’re eating the burger. Really... View all feedback.
It was right around the corner from our hotel and it really hit the spot The shop was quite busy even after lunch on a weekday.
Being close to the hotel and in the mood for a burger I decided to give this place a shot.
The positives: The food was decent, but the value for what you get leaves something to be desired. I ordered a smash burger, which was okay but not particularly filling, especially since I usually eat small portions. It didn't have the heft of a typical double smash burger, which left me wanting more. The special sauce was quite tasty, though. As for the fries, as noted in other reviews, they lacked crispiness. We ordered the rosemary herb fries, but the rosemary was piled on like a dry rub, which overwhelmed the flavor rather than enhancing it. We ended up having to scrape it off (and it was quite a challenge getting it out of our teeth!). The atmosphere was charming but a bit echoey and awkward, especially since we were seated near a loud group of ten teenagers. The seating area is quite dim, so it might be a good spot to visit on a gloomy day. Overall, while the food wasn’t terrible, I don't think we'll be returning. On a positive note, the staff was exceptionally friendly, answered all our questions, and made the experience more enjoyable!
