The restaurant had mixed reviews, with some customers praising the food and service while others were disappointed with the overall experience. The tables were closely packed, making it hard to have a private conversation, but the food received mixed feedback with some dishes being flavorful and others lacking taste. The ambiance ranged from a loud bar area to a quiet and elegant dining room. Overall, the restaurant seemed to have potential with some standout dishes and attentive service, but improvements were needed in terms of consistency and ambiance.

I visited this restaurant for a date night dinner, and we were pleased to find the dining room spacious with no wait for a table. I must say the bar area is stunning—it's roomy and has a much better ambiance than the dining area. They have an impressive selection of cocktails, including some hot options, but I found their sparkling wines to be a bit lackluster. For our appetizer, we ordered the onion soup, which was... What Halle Jacobson dislikes about Convivial:
we went there to birthday dinner, service was great, it was fast and eating was delicious. after a few hours, there's something loud, but there's nothing to do with it. View all feedback.
Quiet, but probably because we were at lunch first. good food, more pleasant space. a white table cloth restaurant without table cloth.
They make one fall and get the poulet rouge. it is a simple meal with simple ingredients that is perfectly executed.
I love the staff, Very friendly. Great food and drinks. Excellent desserts and espresso. Michelin recommended. The patio seating could use an update and indoor could use some air fresheners.
Went for dinner last night and it was by far one of the best dinners I had in DC. The chef worked with me to help select dishes to accommodate my dietary restrictions. The dessert was amazing and super light we didn’t feel guilty having 3 different ones!Highly recommend dining there.
The name says it all for the dining experience here. The room is well spaced out, warmly decorated and allow decent conversation with your meal parties. The food is really good if not outstanding. Ingredients are fresh and served in generous portions. I’mglad i didnt order any appetiser otherwise I wont be able to have room for more sinful dessert. Beet of my heart, I kid you notthats the cocktail I ordered. And you guessed it right it has beet in it. Its a concoction of burned beet syrup with bourbon. The drink sounded weirdly phony but its actually quite well mixed and tasted refreshing. Highly recommended
