Really an awesome spot for a night out with friends who like sharing. We ordered 5 entrees and dessert and that was good for 3 people. Everything we ordered, I would order again. View all feedback.
What Thasin Ahmed dislikes about Compass Rose:
I appreciate the concept behind this restaurant, but I found the flavors of the dishes to be quite inconsistent. The food arrived at varying times, which disrupted the overall experience. The Brussels sprouts were decent but overly salty. However, the watermelon salad stood out as excellent. The chicken kabob was well-cooked, but the flavors felt off. The steak was also cooked nicely, but the chimichurri was too salt... View all feedback.
I was visiting DC for a catering conference and a friend from my home town who now calls DC her town, introduced me to the dish, khachapuri. What a treat, the food was very good, my cocktail was superb (had 3) and service was spot on including the friendly hostesses. It's always nice to know a local who takes you to the coolest place, AKA, whole in the wall. Highly recommend this place for a taste of the beaten path.
Loooong over 2hour wait to get a table but once seated the service was fast and the food was so worth it. I recommend getting your name on the waiting list early since the restaurant does not take reservations.
I can't say enough about how much I love this place. The food and drink are spectacular, but the people are what really makes it special. Rose clearly leads by example, the passion is infectious. We live in Seattle, but visit every time we are in town and every time it is better. I'd fly across the country just for a meal here.
Amazing food at this place. Went there on a Saturday night with a reservation, we were a group of three. They have great dunks here and kept our water filled with a bottle at the table. Staff was very attentive. We decided to do the fixed price menu andit was such a good idea, they were also accommodating to dietary restrictions. We were stuffed by the end of the meal and verysatisfied!
Compass rose is one of the best restaurants you can go to in dc because of the atmosphere, the flavor, and the friendly service. We tried the around the world menu, and boy were we impressed! The taste of the dishes have deep yet light authentic flavors. We especially liked the lamb, as the meat is premium quality. It is one of the hardest to pull off. The caramel flan, a sweetdish, is to die for. We had to order another one. The squash and labneh were particularly exquisite. I can go on and on abouthow good their food is. If you are a foodie, this is a must visit spot! We will definitely come back again.
