My girlfriend and I decided to try it out since we had enjoyed Ghana Cafe before. However, we were disappointed when we arrived to find loud music, no cooking smells, and a lack of meat dishes on the menu. The service was a bit confusing, but the drinks were affordable. In the end, we finished our meal quickly and left as soon as we could. Overall, it was not a great dining experience.

The si... read more If you're looking for delicious African cuisine in the DC area, you must try Appioo! My tiny group were overly impressed with how delicious our food was! The signature cocktails were delicious. The staff was very friendly as well. We will be going back frequently, we have to try the entire menu.

Although it isn’t large, it has an incredibly welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The waitress who served me was exceptionally kind and offered fantastic recommendations. I even ended up placing a takeout order! Be sure to try the sampler plate, as it lets you choose several dishes to enjoy before deciding on a larger entree. And the peanut butter soup paired with pounded yams is quite simply the best thing you’ll ever taste! Walk through the door with an open mind and a willingness to explore new flavors; I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

The attentive young woman who served me was both polite and patient. She was knowledgeable about the menu and answered all my questions thoroughly. The food was served hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to everyone, and I plan to return very soon.
