We stumbled across this spot while wondering around Chinatown. We totally hit the jackpot. The place was almost full, but we got seated immediately. They quickly brought out the menus and drinks. We ordered octopus nigri, the vegetarian General Tso's Tofu, Triple Delight, and the Singapore rice noodles. Everything was absolutely delicious! The portions we HUGE. We'll be be back for sure View all feedback.
What Chris M doesn't like about Wok Roll (chinatown):
Once you enter the door it?s a wall of plastic with a doorbell, can?t let Covid go but why not clean the bathrooms? Chinatown-DC health code violations every where! Only reason they received 2 stars is because the food was very good. That place still is nasty View all feedback.
A great lunch for under $15, including tax and tip, in a historical landmark site. The generous portions of Orange Chicken and Bean Curd Home Style my friend and I shared were delicious. My $1 bowl of thick Hot and Sour Soup was the best I ever had. Conveniently located close to the Gallery Place Metro and Verizon Center and a short walk to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery.
Altogether a good Chinese restaurant but not great. The food was hit and miss, starting with crab Rangoons that really had very little crab in them and tasted more like the deep fryer oil. From there things got better with the rest of the dishes being good. They do need to work on cleanliness, however it did appear there were only two ladies working in the entire restaurant so maybe it was more of a time of day thing.
Overall good! Service was great. The crab wontons were a little disappointing with the filling ratio. The sushi was amazing! LOVED the shrimp tempura! I wish the dynamite roll had a not spicy option because it was SO YUMMY but too spicy for me. The music in there makes me want to come back for karaoke they were playing ALL the jams! The only thing I didn’t love about the vibe is they were burning incense and the smell was a bit intense for me, but other than that and the wontons, it was great!
If you're looking for good Chinese food late Saturday night, this is the place. Food was hot, fresh, and delicious. While we were able to get a table after 2 minutes of waiting (party of 2), other people had to wait. The food took a longer to arrive, but they're short staffed. The only three servers had to attend to the guests in the lobby, dining area, and karaoke rooms so it's understandable for the wait. The food is worth it, I'll definitely recommend this place as one you should eat at.
Great place to try out!! Not only is the food really good, the customer service is great. Most places with this many menu options are not able to deliver with as much quality. However, it is not among the best of this cuisine that I have tried in the area so for that I have to give it 4 stars. Regardless, I would still recommend this place to anyone to at least try and see. They also have extensive drink options that are made well!
