We were only in DC for a day, but we made sure to review this restaurant. It is now one of our favorite spots. We began with the flower cabbage with spiced wobble, accompanied by a sauce that added just the right amount of warmth. My partner ordered the curry and I had the chili, both of which were fantastic. The delicious main dishes left us too full to even think about dessert. We are excited to return. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Unconventional Diner:
I recently dined at a restaurant with a group of friends, where I was the only vegan. The menu clearly indicated vegan options, which I appreciated. I decided to try the mushroom spring rolls and Brussels sprouts since I have an intolerance to seafood. Unfortunately, I found the spring rolls to be quite bland, possibly due to the dipping sauce. The Brussels sprouts were better, but they seemed overly greasy. Overall,... View all feedback.
This restaurant in DC is a nice and cozy spot if you're looking for something new to try. I ordered the corned beef hash, chicken and waffles, and fries. It has the vibe of a mix between Founding Farmers and Busboys and Poets. The food has simple and delicious flavors. The brunch menu is both affordable and flavorful, with plenty of options to choose from. The portion sizes are generous as well.
I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent and the outdoor dining area was perfect for a Sunday brunch in September. The service was attentive and the food arrived promptly. I ordered the chicken and waffles, a side of fries, and a few mimosas. The fried chicken was the standout, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and crispy. The fries were also delicious, coming in a close second. While I'm not a huge fan of cornbread batter waffles, I found them to be tasty and they paired nicely with the meal.
This restaurant is definitely a must-visit brunch spot in the city. The pros include its spacious and lively atmosphere, delicious food with decent menu options, and a variety of interesting drinks. Some of my favorite items from the menu are the avocado toast, Lebanese rice, buttermilk pancakes, the "bad girl" drink, and the "cloud 9" drink. However, the cons are that it can be hard to find parking nearby, the service is a bit slow, and the portions are on the smaller side.
This place has been on my list since I moved to the area and it didn?t disappoint. The atmosphere is bright and cheery. We ordered the fried chicken, salmon and the duck. Our server was great and all the food came out promptly. The fried chicken was delicious, crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. It came with a side of gravy (just a little too salty) and a biscuit. I felt like the duck was goo, comes with a side of bao buns and hoisin sauce, but missing a little
Almost perfect. Great service, fantastic food. The sunny egg dessert is whimsical, light and very tasty. Fried chicken and gravy are great super crispy but the breading is a little too salty. The biscuit is the love child of a biscuit and a croissant an original for me. Dirty Caesar wow!! The smoked tomatoes made this dish a standout and the falafels had amazing flavour. Would highly recommend for a fun experience. Oh and try the pot pie poppers.
