The restaurant has a very cozy and intimate atmosphere, and the prices are quite reasonable. I just wish the menu offered more options for selection. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Point Dc:
The food was great. However, the service was lacking. I'm not sure if it was because of the guaranteed gratuity with the large party, but we had to ask for our server several times. View all feedback.
My party really enjoyed our dinning experience on Valentines Day. We made our reservations early to be ahead of the game. Our only concern was the Operating Fee that was charged for our group. We were not aware of this fee in the District of Columbia. We just found the fee to be a bit much. Not to mention you also have to pay for parking. I called ahead to find out the parking fee, but was unaware of the operating fee. This lesson was a learning experience and I will make others aware as I recommend friends and family. On a positive note, our server Mr. Greg was great and so helpful accommodating.
Food was average. The apple pie and cornbread were the best items we tried. Venue is beautiful and the outdoor scenery is nice to watch while dining. The server seemed irritated. Beef short ribs overpriced...they taste similar to buffet style food. The kids meal fish sticks are more like small fish fillets...not very kid friendly. No apple juice or fruit punch. This place would be cute for a date night ambience...but overall experience was average.
The Point is very reminiscent of DC's nightlife hayday. The larger than life bar (indoor and outdoor) paired with high ceilings and modern decor makes you feel as if you're on vacation. Then you remember that you're enjoying yourself in your own city!
It felt like our server overlooked us on several occasions. The drinks were lackluster, the appetizers were served cold, and one friend received cold soup. The fries were also limp and cold. We had planned to order several rounds of appetizers and smaller plates, but after the first few disappointing items, we lost interest in continuing. Despite intending to indulge in some birthday desserts, our server vanished for over 30 minutes and returned smelling strongly of marijuana. After our drinks sat empty for far too long, we decided to leave and go elsewhere. We ended up spending over $600 without enjoying any part of the experience. I had an excellent experience at this restaurant, with outstanding service and delicious food. I highly recommend it to everyone I know. The head bartender, whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, crafted some fantastic drinks that were spot on. I would definitely love to return!
