Love this cafe. Hate the hours. It feels like it has been a neighborhood staple for a long time. Good coffee and other drink options. Ipuedes the chai latte. While it smells amazing being brewed, it wasn't spicy enough for me. It literally tasted like water to be honest. They should add some more spices like cinnamon and maybe even cayenne to kick it up. What Jeff Verlanic dislikes about Slipstream:
The low review here is entirely the fault of the kitchen staff. The baristas were forced to unload the dishwasher, help bus, and fix the mistakes caused in particular by one female employee who would lazily bus a couple of plates at random intervals, mess up non-barista drink orders, including an orange juice she dumped out then refilled with cold brew? This cafe boasts an exceptional espresso program and is run by truly talented artisans. Whenever I visit from New York City, I make it a point to stop by. I always order a flat white and enjoy the outdoor seating while reading my Bible and relaxing. It’s the best cafe, offering a stunning selection of food! I especially love their avocado toast, which pairs perfectly with their spicy habanero jam!
This is a super trendy spot for weekend brunch! I really loved the atmosphere, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
The coffee and food service here is amazing! I've become a regular—it's a wonderful casual atmosphere for working, and the food and espresso are top-notch. The iced vanilla Tahitian latte with oat milk is exceptional, and the avocado toast breakfast sandwich is delicious. I highly recommend this place!

I believe they serve the best single origin espresso in Washington, DC. I highly recommend it!
