First time in a shake shack location. Burger is surprisingly good, tender and juicy, just the right size. Crinkle cut fries and chicken bites is also good. Unfortunately their shake custard machine is not working during our visit- I'll just visit another location. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shake Shack First National Building Downtown Detroit:
I?m not the one to leave bad reviews because if I don?t have something to say, I?d rather not say anything. That being said, I understand people seemed to be doing the best they could. All I?m going to say is hands down the best mushroom burger I?ve had! But it?s pricey and small, it looked like a slider. View all feedback.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, which was a nice surprise for a fast food restaurant. The burger and fries were enjoyable, though not the best I've ever had (if you have the opportunity, definitely try Gasoline Grill in Copenhagen). I also added smoked applewood bacon to my burger, which was a nice touch. The small chocolate shake was quite refreshing, and I can see why it's called Shake Shack rather than Burger Shack. Overall, it's a solid and budget-friendly option for lunch or dinner in downtown Washington.
Absolutely fantastic! The burger was a bit messy, but that’s to be expected with burgers. There was a slight hint of pink on one edge of the patty, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The fries were excellent—soft and seasoned perfectly. The strawberry milkshake was just okay. The only drawback was the parking situation, which is common in DC. I did notice that the staff seemed a bit distracted; the cashier took their time processing our order after chatting with coworkers.
The restaurant was lively, with no tables free either inside or outside. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff managed the situation well and delivered our orders promptly. The shake was truly delightful, but the burger fell short of expectations; it had a somewhat bitter taste, possibly due to some alcohol in it. I’ll have to sample different dishes on my next visit.
After our trip to the Smithsonian Art Museum, we chose to have a quick meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious. However, we would have liked to see more vegetarian options for our child, although the mushroom burger was quite tasty. The prices were a bit high, but that’s typical for the city.
I ordered the Shack Stack, which is a combination of a mushroom burger and a cheeseburger, and I have to say it was an absolute 10/10. The sauce, meat, and cheese were all fantastic! I also enjoyed the bacon cheese fries; they were delicious and quite filling. Overall, I highly recommend this place, but keep in mind that it's often busy, so the tables might not be very clean.
