Petworth Citizen Reading Room

The cocktails in the reading room at the back are fantastic and of top-notch quality! Be sure to check their social media to see if they have a special book theme for their cocktails, which they sometimes offer on weekends. The staff is very friendly, and there are plenty of books available to enjoy while sipping your drink. It's definitely worth a visit!

Nice bar with a pleasant atmosphere. It has some nice specialty cocktails, some local beers, and food as well. They also have a happy hour. Not sure how the daily punch varies, but when I had it, it we as a pretty good drink. It can get a bit loud sometimes. Overall, a nice place to relax.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! My friend ordered a dirty martini and another cocktail, both of which were fantastic. There was a great band playing during our visit, which added to the atmosphere. We also ordered wings for takeout, and they were absolutely delicious. The bartender was very friendly and prepared our drinks just the way we wanted. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

The bartender is incredibly nice and prepared a delicious special drink for me. He was also pleasant to chat with. Additionally, the reading room provided a wonderful experience. I found the unique and fun interior design of the small room quite appealing. It was a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and let my creativity flourish. Overall, it's a lovely, intimate space for enjoying a drink, reading, or socializing.

A very cool watering hole with that lovely DC dive bar charm, this place has a lot of character and more importantly, a happy hour drink and appetizers/small to medium bites menu that is fitting this Petworth haunt. If you 're there at the happy, try the special punch for the week it is a great start (and has a nice kick, so be careful! to many interesting cocktail options. I nibbled on the Pork Sliders and BBQ wings, both of which were very good! The prices were totally reasonable, too. There is a cozy library lounge back room that seemed to be the hot spot when I was there on a generally non eventful Wednesday evening. It filled up quickly, likely with those who are 'in the know ' of the spot. The bartenders were extremely nice and always around with great service. This is definitely a place I would check out again.
