Firehook Bakery - Washington
Firehook Bakery
Description
Nestled in DC neighborhoods like Logan Circle and Alexandria, this bakery excels at pastries, moist cakes, artisan bread and strong coffee—favorites include dulce de leche cake, carrot cake, and specialty lattes. The compact, sunlit café with indoor/outdoor seating and outlets is ideal for casual mornings, work breaks and catering orders. Consistent baking quality and accommodating order staff earn praise, but reviews note uneven customer service and a critical lack of clear online allergen labeling. Prices skew premium for cakes, but many customers find the treats worth it.

Grabbed a quick croissant pastry and a macchiato shot while walking by the area. Great cafe and good value for a pitstop.
Baked goods are good, bread is fine, but the service is abysmal, grumpy, unfriendly and borderline aggressive. This is a local bakery, a bit of charm good morning, how are you? , please , thank you and a smile would go a long way in giving this a neighbourhood vibe. Maybe they do not have to try hard as there is limited competition... I have stopped going though.
We got a apple turnover It was pretty good. No other dairy-free options available at this bakery except baked bread.
