I ate all the food before I remembered to take pictures ???? ????... but this little gem is it. In the Downtown Washington, MO Cowan's is a cute little breakfast lunch spot. It definitely is worth stopping in and getting your grub on. I order the 10ozRibeye Steak with Fried Okra and Salad and Baked Potato, steak cooked to perfection. Corn Nibblets oooweee.. yes please! Myfriend ordered one of the Salads and enjoyed it too. I really enjoyed this place! And they have pies!

Sweet little diner/cafe that is locally owned. Service is amazing and the food is good. Perfect for breakfast or lunch.

Your 5-Star Review It was much better than I expected. After my meal, I was knocked into a food coma. The waitress was prompt and polite. The entrees are simply to die for. I would eat here every day if I could afford it!

I stopped in for a late breakfast, and I was thoroughly impressed with the breakfast sandwich. The biscuit was wonderfully fluffy, and the sausage patty was definitely fresh, not the typical frozen kind. While the hash browns weren't to my taste—I'm not a fan of the shredded variety—I did enjoy the juicy, tender ham steak I tried. To top off the meal, I had a slice of the peach crumble pie, and I get why Cowan's is famous for it. The slice was huge, easily enough for two to share, and every bite was delicious, including the crust. If you're in the area, the pie alone is worth a visit. I lucked out with a quiet time, but I've heard they get really busy at dinner.
