Bread Bite Bakery

Bread Bite Bakery
4.5 / 5 (145 reviews)

Description

Tucked near U Street north of Logan Circle, this small neighborhood bakery and deli turns out excellent bagels, fresh loaves, flaky croissants and tasty breakfast and lunch sandwiches at affordable prices. Service is fast and friendly with call‑ahead and takeout convenience, though seating is minimal. Cupcakes prompt mixed reactions and vegan options are limited, so plant‑based diners may be disappointed. Overall it’s a beloved local spot for quick, delicious bites that keeps customers coming back.

The menu is aggressively un-vegan... No vegan breakfast sandwich options, no vegan protein options for anything, of their 15 bagel spreads and additions, only peanut butter and avocado are vegan. Yum.... The one vegan sandwich (the veggie) is not good. It needs some kind of protein or vegan sauce or spread to tie it together, which bread bite disappointingly seems to just have no interest in. Just keep some hummus, vegan cream cheese, or tofu on hand to make your menu palatable! I don't want to rate it any lower because what they do do is good, but until they add options to bring their menu up to what is on par with every other good restaurant in the city, I won't be going here again.

Great bagels and great smoothies! The cupcakes are pretty good, too. There’s a $5 credit card minimum.

A little bakery with deli for breakfast and lunch options. Service was very good. Good place for a quick bite! Chocolate croissant was amazing! Would definitely go when I visit DC again. There is not much space to sit and eat there so keep that in mind.

The croissants are delicious. Their size is big. And bagels are good too

A decent spot for a local bagel sandwich at an affordable price. There aren’t too many other nearby spots for bagels so this is a must have at least once. I’m not sure if I was impressed enough to go back too often but it’s a perfect place to snag a snack to take to Meridian Hill Park a couple blocks away.
