This restaurant is excellent for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. They offer a delicious and creative twist on classic fast casual dishes. It would be fantastic to see even more vegan options or substitutes for non-vegan items. Highly recommended!
I was super excited about trying this vegetarian place on my trip to DC and I was not disappointed! My friend and I got the Little Curry Warm Rice Bowl and it was loaded with veggies and super delicious! I love this concept of quick casual yummy vegetarian food and I hope that Jose Andres expands it to San Francisco!
The service was excellent, but the food was just average. I expected a cleaner atmosphere to align with the restaurant's concept. When I arrived, I picked up a greasy menu at the entrance. The floor felt sticky, and the food tray had turned from white to gray from being written on and wiped clean repeatedly (they use it to jot down customers' names and numbers). I really appreciate the overall idea, but it's the little details that make a big difference.
Original review: Best veggie burger! What a fantastic restaurant. It's not anti-meat, but very pro-veggie. They have a great menu, reasonable prices, and the decor and music are fantastic.
Who knew vegetables could be so exciting? Beefsteak offers an amazing assortment of fresh, flavorful, and healthy food in a fun, rustic environment. The menu is fairly extensive, with a diverse mix of vegetables, sauces, and toppings (yes, they even have chicken sausage for the obligate carnivores out there), and the staff is friendly and helpful. The most interesting part of the meal by far is the immersion hot water machine (think french fry fryer, but greener) when I saw my veggies descending into a boiling vat of water I expected the worst, but they came out well seasoned and still surprisingly firm. Don't forget to grab a homemade fruit and veggie juice mix on the way out!
