Wow! What a great, intimate, restaurant. Drinks were mixed well and tasty and the food perfectly cook. The escargot came on top of a brioche and that was different but it worked really well. Would highly recommend and would go back to try more options. View all feedback.
Owner Elli Benchimol makes it her mission to ensure that everyone feels welcome and appreciated; she is such a wonderful person that you can’t help but root for her success. The dinner menu is straightforward yet looks absolutely delicious, and the drink selection—particularly the champagne list—is diverse and thoughtfully curated. Plus, there’s caviar available to suit every palate and budget. I've heard that Elli plans to open an upper-level tasting menu salon in this historic townhouse, and I can't wait to visit once it's open. Apero is nestled in a gentrified neighborhood in Georgetown, so parking can be a bit tricky, but I can easily see it becoming my go-to spot if I lived nearby. I can't wait to return!
My new favorite spot! We had passed by Apéro many times and often commented on how casually inviting it looked from the outside. Thanks to our foodie friends who had been there a few times, we finally decided, "Alright, let's check it out!" I'm so glad we did! They are woman-owned and LGBTQ+ friendly, which are great starting points for me. When you add in the impeccable service and delicious food and wine options, I was truly smitten. The food, the cocktails, the service, the atmosphere—everything combined to create a wonderful experience. I can't wait for our next visit! Thank you, Apéro staff, for a beautiful evening!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The hamachi crudo is absolutely delightful; I always end up ordering a second serving. My top choice for an entree is the lemon pasta, which is simply excellent. The caviar service paired with champagne is, of course, perfect. The staff is consistently professional and helpful with their recommendations. I also appreciate that the owner takes good care of their staff and values them enough to provide a living wage.
Only so beautiful! sweet new(wish) neighborship restaurant behind the lively against georgetown. looked at the bar. attentive and committed bartender, more wonderful owner. delicious French farewell, with many vegetarian options. even better choice of wine. perfect ambiente. dc needs more places like this! can't wait to come back!
We were visiting the DC area and wanted something quiet and quaint in Georgetown. We were full from lunch and were not really too hungry. So, Caviar and Champagne were the perfect midafternoon snack. Plus it was happy hour. Unfortunately, HH can only be consumed at the bar. I 'm the kind of parent that vacations with my kid. He is super chill and if given a tablet, will sit quietly so that mom and dad can HH it up. However, there is a no kid at the bar rule. I get it. Too bad HH wasn 't recognized at the tables. I loved the chic decor, low lighting, velvet couch. It definitely screamed, not kid friendly vibes, but we were literally the first and only patrons to come through the door when they opened for HH and I really wanted caviar and champagne. The caviar we ordered was Siberian Caviar from Poland. It came with Belgian waffles, creme fraiche, chives, onions, and eggs. Presentation was beautiful. We ordered two glasses of champagne, talked about our day, the rest of our plans, and enjoyed ourselves. I 'd definitely come back. Even with the kid.
