Anju was definitely five stars. The service was great and the food was amazing. It's a nice restaurant that has a good amount of seating including our door seating. The menu is really good everyone got something different at my table and there were no complaints. I'll definitely be stopping in again to see what new stuff chef angel has added to the menu. What Sameet Sapra doesn't like about Anju:
I found this restaurant to be quite overrated. I started with the soju bourbon, expecting it to taste better than just diluted soju, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. For appetizers, we ordered the dumplings, fried chicken, and bone marrow. The dumplings were excellent, and while the fried chicken was cooked and sauced nicely, it lacked a bit of spice. The bone marrow was decent—there wasn't a lot of it, but... View all feedback.
Good restaurant. We enjoyed the Mandu, Kare Bokkeumbap and Mango Meringue Pie. The Honghap Tang could have used more flavor but was still decent. Average service.
We went on a Saturday night with no reservations and only had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Their Chikin was one of the best Korean fried chicken meals I’ve ever had. Everything from drinks to food to service was absolutely amazing.
Anju is not the *most authentic* Korean place and it’s not meant to be. It offers a variety of dishes in a more fun, upscale way with less spicy and more sweet profile than the very traditional Korean places. The presentation of each dish is great, and the portion sizes are also quite large. We finished every bite.We loved all the side dishes, especially the lotus root.
Delicious food and great service to conclude our visit to DC! Loved the cozy vibe of this place too. Perfect for a low key date night too.
Anju is in my top 10 of DC brunches. The spicy chicken sandwich packs a giant punch in heat and protein. Doesn't matter what you get, it's gonna be ? ?
