What Deborah Singer doesn't like about Old Stone House Warwick Ny:
We had to send our entrees back 3 times for wrong temperature on steak and salmon. We understood that kitchen mishaps happen but it happened 3 times and our entrees ended up coming 10 minutes apart. The house did not even offer a drink or dessert on the house for basically ruining our dining experience. I would Not recommend spending an easy $300 on dinner here. View all feedback.
It’s not a surprise that the manager admittedly does not respond to one star reviews because our experience tonight was the worst example of hospitality I’ve ever experienced. We have all been here before and had such an amazing experience that we couldn’t wait to return tonight….so the disappointment was extra brutal. We had a party of 6 tonight and even though the online reservation page claimed that outside was first come, first serve, we were seated on the back patio despite specifically asking for the porch that clearly had an open table. My suggestion to the management would to not open a patio which doubles your seating if your kitchen and staff can’t handle it. The patio area would be the perfect spot for after dinner drinks but full service out there was the worst idea ever. Our cocktails, apps and salads were fine; however, the night fell apart there. Only one waiter was stationed outside cover the entire patio. Three of our meals came out perfectly fine. After a few minutes wait, my husband’s $60 ribeye came out embarrassingly well done when it was supposed to be medium rare. The server graciously took it back to get him one that was the appropriate temperature; however, his new steak returned before I received my roasted chicken or my niece got her octopus. Approximately one hour later after the other 4 members of our party were almost done, my niece finally received her octopus. My chicken, however, was no where to be seen. We asked several times and although our server was apologetic, it didn’t make it arrive any faster. When it finally came, an hour and a half after the first entree was served, it came out with the wrong side that I had requested and was looking forward to! My family sat and watched while I ate by myself as they had been done eating for twenty minutes. What bothered me the most though was that during the entire debacle, the manager did not come by once to check on us or apologize. The poor server was left to fend for himself and take the wrath. My husband even went inside at the end of the meal to speak to the manager and was told that she was too busy to come out to speak to him. We were not the only party on the patio to experience the same issues either. One party had little kids who never got their chicken fingers. The entire party of 8 left without eating, claiming to be going to Burger King on the way home. I have never seen a more poorly managed restaurant. Shame on the management for not manning up and addressing significant issues either in person or online.
Pretty horrible experience from start to finish. Cocktail order took over 10 minutes to take and delivery another 15 to 20. Food took 90 minutes, was Luke warm at best and the short ribs, emphasis on short, were scant if there were even any. At no time were we offered a drink for the delay etc and the other tables were getting pretty annoyed as well. The manager never came out as promised in another 30 minutes. Not good for over $100 for two!
This was a great way to end our yearly trip to Warwick. This historic landmark is a real hidden gem. Starting with the beautiful grounds, the ambience, excellent drinks and the kind staff our experience was phenomenal.
Tonight we went out celebrating our two year wedding anniversary. Trying somewhere new that looked great online, to be honest the view at our seat on the porch was beautiful but the service was very very slow and the food was not good at all crab cakes were very fishy and my steak was well done when I asked for medium. Took way too long for a server to come around we ended up having to ask the bus boys for things including the check because our waiter was no where to be found. I could understand the service if the place was packed but there were not a lot of people there at all when we arrived. I would not go back or recommend.
Wouldn't recommend to a friend and won't be going back. Over priced and way over rated, $67 dollars for an over cooked steak is the biggest rip off I have seen in a very long time. Crab cakes were disgusting. Not to mention it took 30 minutes to get the check and 15 minutes for them to bring my card back. This was by far a very disappointing experience. Truly a sup par dining experience..
