Description

The restaurant received mixed reviews regarding the food and service. While some diners enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, others were disappointed with burned burgers, missing ingredients, and long wait times. The pub was praised for being dog-friendly, with a separate menu for furry companions. Overall, The Maltings seems to be a hit or miss dining experience, with some guests enjoying the experience while others left disappointed.

A simple and traditional country pub with lovely old furniture and stone floors. Dogs very welcome (we didn't have one but there were lots in there) they even have their own menu. If you don't like dogs it's probably not the place for you but we loved it. The (human) food and the service were exceptional. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish Chips

We recently visited The Maltings on Saturday the 7th December for Breakfast with Santa. My little one absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was great. The manager (sorry I didn't catch the name) was welcoming from start to finish and made sure that we had everything that we needed. It was very well organised and they had thought of so much for the children, a christmas tree activity, sweet bags on the table full to the brim with christmas treats and a little present off Santa. I've been to a few Breakfast with Santa mornings at Dobbies in the past and they have not been as good as The Maltings. I hope they do this for many years to come as we will definitely be booking on next year if so!! Thank you for a lovely morning and some lovely memories! Welcoming and ample parking, looks abit tired inside in places but acceptable. Staff were helpful and friendly. The thing that let it down were the chips! These were not like chips but a potato that has it 's edges squared off! While cooked and edible each one was like eating something between a chunky chip, baked and roast potato in one. Even the two kids meals we ordered came with these monster 'chips ' which our kids couldn 't even fit in their mouths. Pic is of my son 's meal with a tea spoon for scale of the chips included. There needs to be a warning on the menu about these chips and their typical dimensions quoted along with that of a standard chip served everywhere else. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
