This restaurant offers excellent takeout options, and it is the only one in the area that serves high-quality Chippy chips. The salt and pepper chicken pieces are amazing, and overall, the food is much improved from before. The restaurant is always bustling with customers, but the service is fast. I also highly recommend their fish dishes.
Went this evening for the first time and I certainly wasnt disappointed. Good was absolutely superb. I picked up a menu and I cant wait to go back and try other delicious dishes. I can't believe I've not been before but I will certainly make up for that.
My go to Chinese in my area. Hard to replace the Happy Village that used to be in orford but this comes close. Mini rolls always cooked in clean oil. Piping hot. Ribs are great. We have salt n pepper which are finished off in alcohol for that restaurant finish. Singapore vermicelli is superb. Sweet sour Cantonese style, Beef black bean, Crispy chilli beef, Spring onion and ginger dishes are all high quality! Really disappointed with other places when they go on holiday!
Although it may not try to be anything beyond a fish and chip shop and Chinese takeout (unless you're the earlier reviewer who mistakenly thought it was an Indian restaurant in Brighton), this place excels in both categories. The fish and chips are executed flawlessly, meeting all expectations for a local chippy. The Chinese dishes are particularly remarkable, with the special fried rice prepared in a spiced Singapore style standing out as one of the best I've ever had. The portion size was also quite generous, packed with an abundance of meat and prawns. Overall, the restaurant is consistent in delivering tasty and ample dishes across the board.
We had some small problems over the years and it's closed for the time being, I'm not sure why, but I have to say that lately the food has become much better and seemed more crowded than ever and I had to employ more staff. I've always preferred their chips anywhere else, since they're like traditional chippy chips. Salt and pepper chicken were so delicious the last time we asked for something new the next day! My partner loves Chinese food and especially its ribs and her loves sweet and sour salsa and barbecue! I highly recommend this traditional fish and chips even for fish and chips, but also enormously for Chinese food. The only thing is I don't think they provide.
