The Concept Cafe is within the Hollies Farm shop. We called for lunch and found it surprisingly busy for a Tuesday with a nice atmosphere. Tables are not too close together and service was exceptionally friendly yet still efficient. We chose two of the pies form the main menu, cheese and onion and steak and onion. Both were served with home-made chips (which did actually look and taste home-made) and also sausage and... View all feedback.
What travelalotta doesn't like about Concept Cafe:
I had an Americano and a slice of coffee and walnut cake. Unfortunately, the cake was dry and lacked walnuts in both the cake and filling. There was only one half of a walnut on top. The filling was overly sweet. Overall, it was a disappointing and overpriced experience. View all feedback.
The best ingredients are clearly being used here and the prices certainly reflect this. £7 for a sausage sandwich is probably the most expensive I have seen in a cafe. It was very tasty and I wouldn't have such an issue if the service wasn't so disorganised. We arrived and sat ourselves (it's not a restaurant after all) and had to call over a waitress after being ignored. We ordered with no issue and the food is freshly cooked, so it came after a short wait. However it arrived without our drinks which we had to ask for. They then had to be chased. My drink then arrived and was not what I ordered but was then changed without fuss. We then couldn't get a bill, so went to pay for a different member of staff to have no clue what we had eaten....It's great food at TOP prices as long as you don't mind a little chaotic service.
Am a regular and went in for breakfast earlyish. It was not that busy with a number of singles and a few couples. After order was taken (two poached eggs on toast) there seemed a long wait for it to come and for about 10 minutes no food came out of the kitchen at all. There seemed to be enough staff including chefs and what was coming out seemed to be bacon sandwiches etc.Had seen the notice on the door re "it is not fast food -but freshly cooked food served asap (not sure of all exact wording). Just seemed a bit sluggish and not as organised as usual.

Tables are not too close together and service was exceptionally friendly yet still efficient. We chose two of the pies form the main menu, cheese and onion and steak and onion. Both were served with home-made chips (which did actually look and taste home-made) and also sausage and mash dish with a rich gravy. The food took a little while to come out (which the menu points out may be the case as its cooked to order) but we enjoyed good coffee while we waited. Portions are not huge but are perfect for lunch. The meals were tasty and good quality, no complaints.
The food is really first class as are the staff. It is always popular but you can walk around the shop while a table becomes vacant. There are lots of food and gifts to explore.
As always the food is of a high quality. My steak pie was lovely as was the quiche and the rarebit. Food is always consistent but the added bonus are the ladies serving. They are delightful and nothing is too much trouble.
