Was kristen Brantner at 1878 a mag?
The service was excellent. The food was lacking flavor but overall experience was great. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calming, beautiful view as the sun was setting. View all feedback.
What Google user dislikes about 1878:
We initially experienced a decent level of service. However, after finishing our first batch of cheese curds and ordering a second, we were informed they had run out and were served a different batch instead. This one was underwhelming and lacked that characteristic squeak. The burger curds were a bit cold, and the fries were greasy and mushy, though they had a pleasant taste overall. I was under the impression that this restaurant offered a menu for ordering based on their website, but I was surprised to find it was actually a very small buffet. The waitress seemed to lack proper training. We ordered wine and ice water, only to be informed that they were completely out of all white wines — and this was on Friday during Cranfest weekend! The soup was served at room temperature (I hope I don’t get sick), and the other food options were at best bland. The dessert bars were decent, though. When we requested more water, the look the waitress gave us was as if we had asked for her firstborn child. At least the price was only $12 per person.
The selection may be limited, but the food is well prepared for the price. Kid-friendliness: The breakfast buffet is mostly kid-friendly, with the exception of biscuits and gravy and coffee. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps and elevators make it easy to access nearly the entire resort, including 1878. Service: Dine-in. Meal type: Breakfast.
We initially had a decent experience with the restaurant's attendance. However, after enjoying our first batch of cheese curds and ordering a second one, we were informed they had run out and were given a different type instead. Unfortunately, these were not as impressive—lacked the signature "squeak" we were hoping for. The burger curds were on the colder side, and the fries were greasy and a bit mushy, though overall, they were okay. I would recommend checking out a local bar instead for a better experience.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The food is overpriced and just not worth it. The grilled cheese wasn’t properly melted, and the nachos were on par with what you’d find at a ballpark. The fries were unsalted, and there weren’t any salt shakers on the table. Many menu items were out of stock. There was no mayonnaise available, but you can walk over to Clyde’s Café to grab some packets. The server was pretty decent, though. I found the booths to be uncomfortable, but if you need a bit more space, there’s one at the end that can be moved.
