wasabi on 82nd is a HIDDEN GEM. i have eaten here for 10+ years and they never disappoint. the food is delicious and always comes out quickly. the servers are kind and attentive (we had sisilia tonight and she was so sweet). if you’re an out of town guest or local sushi-lover, this place is a MUST TRY. The food is okay but the service….we’ve come to eat on a few occasions and the older server is so painfully rude. Tonight he could be heard screaming at the other employee in the kitchen.When we walked in, the sushi chef motioned us to sit in a booth. Average at best. Ironically, the wasabi is awful. You’d think the namesake would be better but here we are with some stale wasabi… dinner entrees aren’t worth the time of day.

DO NOT ORDER GYUDON! its nothing like the ones in asian and very far from Japan's standard. Which gyudon in this world has thick slices of beef that is tough, filled with udon, broccoli and carrots? Gyudon is supposed to have only thinly sliced beef, onions, japanese dashi with japanese short grain rice. Very disappointing experience considering this is rated 4.4 stars on Google. I would recommend the chef to take a trip to Japan and order a bowl of gyudon from any stall/restaurant.
Rude rude rude the old skinny white waiter with long salt and pepper hair slam the menu down and did not explain well on the different types of sushi when asked. Is it because we aren't white and people of color. Sad day that we go to have sushi and are treated this way! The menus look like a novel and were old and dirty! Chef Ramsey would not be impressed! Manager/owner fire these crusty old guys and get some decent help! Also get better updated menus! This place looks like a dungeon! DO NOT GO HERE!
