3/10 Not the restaurant it once was I only just discovered the restaurant has changed hands and they clearly haven’t been able to keep the same standard that th... read more 3/10 Not the restaurant it once was I only just discovered the restaurant has changed hands and they clearly haven’t been able to keep the same standard that the place had before. the owner wouldn’t allow the waitresses to take food orders, we had to wait for him. As a result we waited 30minutes for our order to be taken. He needs to give his staff some more responsibility as two of the ladies would be more than capable of taking orders from customers. the prawn starter was bland and over the top, the garnishes added no flavour French onion soup was like a chutney and barely has any cheese on top. the steak was asked to be cooked medium and it came out rare, no steak knife was provided. the calves liver was okay, nothing special the 2 waitresses in black were hard to understand and it was as though they didn't understand what we were asking , however the two waitresses in white were amazing and had a lovely way about them. My point is, this isn’t worth the £50 a head it costs for 3 courses, so much so, we left without dessert and just decided to but one in Sainsbury's. It would take a lot to drag me back there to give it a second chance. I could make better food myself at home. Hopefully they improve, the meals I had at the old restaurant were some of the best dishes I have ever tasted. The new owners really need to step it up. Service: 2

We have been meaning to d... read more We were very sad to hear that the current owners of Chez vous were retiring after hearing lots of amazing things about the restaurant. We have been meaning to dine at the restaurant for years but due to various reasons... work.. kids... something always stopped us! This is the last week that the current owners will be at the restaurant, My husband and I decided to have a last minute decision early anniversary lunch there (with the kids being at school! and we are so happy to have made it after all these years! The food (and drinks was perfect as were the staff. We enjoyed every mouthful. We hope this will be a busy last week for you all and we hope the owners get a well deserved break. Well done.
