We met friends for Sunday lunch, it's half way between our home towns. Easy access from A34, in a lovely village and a proper country pub feel. Great food, cold beer and a warm welcome. Would definitely recommend
Dinner with extended family. Had fish and chips and it was perfect. A fantastic sticky toffee pudding. A perfect local ale. Highly recommended.
A clean venue that sets high standards in everything that they do including the loos. The wines are very well chosen and kept in good condition. The chicken pork terrine was the best I've ever had in both taste, texture, and presentation. The fish pie with tender greens was not swamped in mash; essential for those having to watch their starch intake. I was looked after very well indeed by the front of house staff. Thank you. It isn't the cheapest of pubs, though the drinks were average price for the area. As many of the mains were hovering around the £25 mark, we all went for the meal deal, which was excellent value at £17.50. For that, we got a tasty...
