What Neil Jansen doesn't like about The Northcote:
Pretty average British pub. But Jesus, two pints of Asahi for £15? Northcote bar and the road itself need to get tf over themselves (maybe just London in general, too). There are much more charming options for less money. View all feedback.
Having recently discovered the joys of a traditional British Sunday roast, my partner and I can't seem to get enough. Especially as the weather gets colder and the days shorter, we find comfort in gathering around a cozy fire with a hearty Sunday roast. During a recent visit to The Northcote in Battersea, we were welcomed with a decadent Bloody Mary setup at our table that immediately won us over. We both enjoy a good Bloody Mary, and with its blend of tomato juice, citrus, and seasonings, it almost feels like a healthy choice. Alongside two generous glasses of vodka, there was a large jug of tomato juice, Tabasco sauce, and more. Despite the chilly weather, our lazy Sunday at The Northcote was warm and inviting, and we left feeling satisfied and content.
The pub in Clapham exudes a charming British atmosphere, appealing to the trendy and affluent younger crowd. It seems to cater to those who appreciate a more upscale dining experience, with a touch of self-awareness. While I have some reservations about British cuisine, I must admit that the pan-roasted liver dish served with crispy bacon, creamy mash, and gravy was quite delicious. The service was satisfactory and the overall dining experience was pleasant.
This restaurant is a great spot to enjoy a beer and a meat dish. The updated menu definitely adds value, and I highly recommend trying the chicken and chorizo skewers.
Large selection of drinks selection of vodka rum loads from unusual brands that they do not expect to see. always busy with quirky art work and eating looks fantastic. comes back to try safely.
Difficult to beat for pub grub. Northcote is abuzz with friendly punters and staff, easy going vibe with really good food, lamb particularly good and if you want a hearty meal, a fine ale and a good atmosphere on the northcote road, it is hard to beat. Nevertheless, it is pub food and it is important to expect nothing more, michelin starred it ain't but enjoy it, a thoroughly english experience.
