Tap Tap Station - Waltham

The jerk chicken at Tap Tap is superior to most of Boston's offerings. They also serve delicious smoothies!

I ordered the Vegan Bowl, a vegetable stew served with rice and plantains. I opted for takeout, so the picture may not do it justice as I transferred it into a bowl. My initial reaction was that it was very oily, as both the rice and stew were heavily infused with coconut oil. While it didn't taste bad, the excessive oil was a bit off-putting. Additionally, there were only a few slices of plantain included. Considering the dish costs around $17, I was disappointed that the majority of it consisted of plain white rice. Despite this, the portion was so generous that I had plenty of leftovers. I plan to mix in some extra steamed rice or potatoes to balance out the oiliness. I am intrigued by the other vegan options available and would be open to giving them a try in the future.

The woman working at the front of the restaurant said they did not have any vegetarian options. She was not familiar with the concept of veganism.

Don't listen to the negative reviews, this restaurant is fantastic. I went with a big group and we all loved the food. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are very reasonable. I didn't find the service to be slow at all - maybe the other reviewers should try fast food if they're in a rush.

The food was delicious and the portions were generous! This is a great spot for lunch. The wait time was manageable, but I suggest ordering ahead to avoid waiting. The Jerk Chicken Rice Bowl was fantastic, with plantains and vegetables included. The prices were not clearly displayed, but I paid $15.88.
