However, there are three... read more We absolutely adore Gustazo! The food is delicious and expertly prepared, the cocktails are inventive, and the sangria is exceptional. However, there are three things you should be prepared for: first, the noise level is quite high (our server had to lean in close to hear us); second, the drinks take a long time to arrive (we received two of our small plates before our drinks showed up); and third, your server will likely be quite busy and difficult to catch, especially since various staff members will be bringing out your small plates as they’re ready. You can request to have all your food served at once, but that may delay things even further. If you’re not in a hurry and are just looking to relax in a lively atmosphere with fantastic food, Gustazo is a perfect choice!

While it may seem like a small thing, and I am a person who worked in restaurants for many years so I most certainly understand the job, it is shady business practice for the owners of the restaurant to add on a hidden fee that they should be paying for and instead are passing on to the consumer. At a hefty $180 bill to then add an additional fee on top of that and such manipulative language is very poor form for a supposedly professional restaurant. What I 'd really like is to have the money refunded to me, but I can promise you this is a restaurant I will never go back to.Worse mice and rats spotted in restaurant by multiple patrons beware.

I was immediately struck by the decor, and it only got better from there with delightful cocktails and outstanding food. I highly recommend this restaurant!

For the price of the food, it was a little bit concerning to see a 4% appreciation charge for kitchen staff on the bill… however i didn’t mind too much as the food was good. The flavors were well balanced. I enjoyed the camarones a la plancha and the flan the most.

The empanadas were small (very little meat), not of great taste, were topped with sesame seeds which I don’t like, and just over priced. The lamb chops were of the tiniest portion I’ve ever seen and overpriced as well. My wife said the ropa vieja was not bad, so 1 out of 3 things went well. I should have stuck with the usual places I normally go to in Watertown/Waltham area or drive into Boston. In addition, what the heck is a kitchen appreciation fee of 4.00%? This is the first time I have heard of this and would not of known unless I looked over the receipt. I drove in the rain to pick it up, the fees and suggested tips are a bit much for takeout! I thought tips were for dinning in and delivery services?!

But there are three things you can count on: the noise level is through the roof (our server had to come in close to hear us), the drinks take forever to arrive (two of our small plates arrived before our drinks did) and your server will be overworked and hard to snag, particularly since an assortment of other people will be delivering your small plates as they’re ready. You can tell them if you want your food delivered all at once, but will likely delay things even more. But if you’re not in a rush and just want to chill in a fun place with great food, Gustazo is great!

I was impressed right away with the decor, but it just kept getting better with delicious cocktails and excellent food. I’d definitely recommend this place.

Our main server seemed to also be tending bar. As such, he was slow checking in us. The expediters brining out our small plates were very quick and efficient. They nicely ordered how our dishes were brought out and spaced themso we could enjoy each dish fully. This was my second visit and my husband's first. We do plan to go back.

It was totally packed to the gills for Thursday dinner, and it took a bit of time to be seated and getservice, but was well worth the wait! Our server, Dee, was exceptionally cheerful, accommodating and attentive. The dishes thatmy lovely date and I ordered were simply friggen delicious! I had the flank steak; absolutely one of the most tender and wellseasoned steaks I've had in years, along with irresistible rice and juicy roasted plantains. Just a great value for the level ofquality and attention to detail. I'm looking forward to visiting Gustazo many times in the future!

Although the storefront looks a bit worn, we were seated at a lovely outdoor table adorned with charming decorations. The drinks were fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. I particularly loved the small plates – we sampled several, and each one was delightful! The added perk of free parking in the back lot was a great bonus.

My only issue was that I filled up too quickly because I wanted to sample everything on the menu. While it may look small from the outside, the interior is surprisingly spacious. I was in search of delicious Cuban cuisine paired with a charming ambiance and options for both indoor and outdoor seating, and Gustazo Cuban Kitchen Bar in Waltham, MA exceeded my expectations in every way. As one of the few authentic Cuban restaurants in the Boston area, they offer a diverse range of dishes, including vegetarian options as well as small and large plates of meat and seafood.
