I met my family here for lunch and had a great experience. The service was excellent, and the Sunday specials were fantastic. The staff were very attentive, and there was a good variety of real ales and cocktails. The restaurant also had TVs showing sports, which was a nice touch. The parking lot was a bit small, but there were still spaces available. I would love to come back in the summer and dine by the water. Ove... View all feedback.
What phyluk dislikes about Fingerpost:

Lovely setting, popped in one Monday evening, sat on the refurbished decking over looking the canal. Decided to try the menu and had a very nice meal. Reasonable prices, nice inside. Would recommend
We live about 3 to 4 miles from the pub but are lucky enough to be able to walk to it via the local trails and canal towpaths. Lovely pub in a nice location next the canal. Definitely not the cheapest place to eat and drink but it isn't expensive either compared to some other places. Staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was very nice (I had the Fingerpost burger and my wife had the chicken burger which we both enjoyed). It's dog friendly too which we like as we can walk there with our dog.
We were looking for somewhere to new to eat and decided to try this place for lunch. My wife had the steak and I tried the small plate menu. Three plates for 12 quid. Squid, belly pork and Falafel were my three choices. It was all delicious and well presented. The steak was succulent and tasty. Friendly staff made it a worth while visit. The toilets were clean and tidy. Overall a good place to eat. We will be returning soon to try other fayre off the menu. Keep up this standard please.
Lovely place! It’s been spruced up and the new owners are really friendly. Food is bangin! Recommend this place for either a few beers or a meal.
This restaurant is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a meal by the canal. The atmosphere is laid-back and not hurried. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious.
