Pieology offers a mix of flavors and customizable options, attracting pizza enthusiasts with its affordable base price. However, many patrons have voiced concerns over service quality. Reports of unfriendly staff, slow service, and cleanliness issues tarnish the dining experience. While some customers appreciate the friendly demeanor of certain employees, others have encountered burnt pizzas and a lack of attention to detail in the preparation. The ambiance suffers from unkempt dining areas, highlighting a need for management oversight. Overall, while the pizza's taste is commendable, the inconsistency in service and atmosphere may deter loyal customers from returning.
Love you can pick so many toppings that are fresh and don't find at other pizza places. Always good.
I ordered for curbside pickup, parked and called the store, phone was busy, waited and called again nine times, still busy. I wasn 't dressed for going into the store, but was forced to. No one bothered to ask me why I was there, I waited near the register. There was a worker filling ranch dressing up behind the register with her back towards me, I called out 'Excuse me ' twice, no response, so I went around and repeated 'Excuse me ' and told her that I had ordered curbside pickup and had called the store 9 times, she said nothing kept waddling about taking pizza out from the oven. I had to tell her that I was there for my pizza, she asked me for my name and took the pizza from the rack to hand it to me, I could tell that the pizza was cold and had been sitting there for sometime. I asked for the managers name to be written down for me, which she did. I did not get her name but she was a bigger girl with two long braids, horrible attitude and zero customer service. The pizza was cold and YUCK! This is the second time I had bad experience at this store, the last time was when I found a piece of meat in my veggie pizza. I called again a couple of times after reaching home, around 940pm no one answers the phone.
Don 't waste your time; spend your money where people are happy. You come where they work. No one greeted me because all three ladies were looking at their phones. From the time I entered until I walked up to the register, finally, someone looked up, and I was instructed to go around the corner and see the menu. While ordering my pizza, the maker appeared annoyed that I was requesting more broccoli. She took one piece of broccoli and spent 30 seconds breaking it into tiny pieces; after she completed the first piece of broccoli, I asked her to add more. This is how she proceeded in adding each item. I was baffled and frustrated because I had never experienced this type of service at a pieology. I loved going to pieology. I have visited Pieology near Antioch, CA, and Walnut Creek, Ca. Never have I ever been treated like these three ladies treated me. No smiles or excitement in there voices, no interaction with the customers. The mood was as if I was in a funeral home and everyone should be quiet. I asked for a dipping sauce and the lady responded(Erica the manager) those are the only ones we have. I wondered if you still have others. She said no, that 's all we have since I and (pointing to Alex) have been here. However, I can 't remember the name of the dipping sauce I used to get. It was brown, and it was back around 2018. However, the ladies were not friendly and could have stated, maybe it is an older dipping sauce that we no longer carry. Still, instead, they came across as unconcerned, and that 's all we have. I asked for the names of the three ladies, I can 't remember the name of the person who made my pizza, but I do remember Erica and Alex. When she closed the box and handed it to me, I could see she didn 't care because the box wasn 't closed properly with care. I went outside and looked at the pizza, which was a mess. I requested extra cheese and cooking time to melt the cheese and well-cooked crust. It appears that you have changed the type of mozzarella. The taste was horrible like imitation cheese. I literally got sick with an upset stomach. However, I have a sensitive stomach, and when I took it home my son ate the pizza with no problems. I paid $12.32 and couldn 't return the pizza, so I gave it to my son, hoping he wouldn 't get sick. I was compelled to inform my favorite Pizzeria I will Never revisit this location, and I will share it with my google followers.
We stopped by this Pieology on our way out of town. The pizza was satisfying, but the ordering experience wasn’t the best. We arrived around 6:45pm on 4/16/22. One of the staff, wearing a multicolor mask, didn’t distribute the ingredients very evenly—often just dropping them in the center of the pizza. It seemed like she wasn’t very engaged or enthusiastic about making our pies. It almost felt like she could use some training on spreading toppings more evenly. She also kept interrupting us by asking, “Is that all?” before we finished ordering. However, after baking, the pizzas looked quite good, and the ingredients had evened out nicely—maybe the person in the oven made up for it! Although the ordering process was a bit off-putting, the end result was decent. At the end of the day, pizza is pizza.
Terrible experience! My wife and I each ordered a pizza; hers was good, but the process was awful. The staff member taking our order was rude and rushed us the entire time. My gluten-free pizza came burnt, and they insisted the blackened crust wasn’t burned—that it was just how it is—but it tasted like charcoal. If they paid more attention to cooking times instead of chatting at the counter, this could have been avoided. They did agree to remake my pizza and gave me an expired free pizza card. This was during the 4 pm shift and definitely an experience to avoid.
