Contribute FeedbackLe Sen Bistro offers a delicious menu, with impeccable food, despite some mixed reviews on portions and pricing. The atmosphere is lively, and service is generally great, though some guests experienced delays. The French cuisine has received mixed feedback, with dishes like Coq Au Vin being criticized for being salty or burned. Noteworthy highlights include the escargot, duck pate, and apple blueberry rissoles. For a romantic evening, make a reservation at this cozy and picturesque spot. Overall, while some felt the restaurant fell short of high expectations, others praised the experience and looked forward to returning.
Food was delicious! Service was great! Corkage fee was reasonable. Bice recognition of birthday!
For a special birthday, I took my husband to La Sen. We enjoyed the small, intimate space and looked forward to a fabulous French meal. We were not disappointed. They brought warm bread with a yummy dipping sauce to start. We selected a glass of Sancerre with our meal, which was excellent. Next we chose fried calamari which was perfectly prepared. We split a lovely salad of Roquefort cheese, pistachios, slivers of green apples atop mixed greens, tossed with champagne vinaigrette dressing. Excellent! My husband ordered beef bourguignon and I chose Coq au vin for our main courses. Both were tender, sauce was delicious and vegetables cooked perfectly, not overdone. Dessert was to die for flourless chocolate cake! An Exceptional and memorable meal!
Fantastic food and service tucked in a cozy French restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek. French onion soup and lasagna are consistently delicious!
We have always enjoyed eating at La Sen Bistr,o going back to when the original location opened in Concord. The menu remains fairly consistent, although nightly specials are offered across courses. We started with the beef steak tartare which is wonderful and beautifully presented. Also highly recommend among appetizers the escargot, duck liver pate, and sharing the crab cake entrée. We both ordered the duck breast which is a favorite and it did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly, delicious sauce, and served with a tasty polenta cake. The duck confit is also a good choice if you are a duck fan. Service was attentive throughout and professionally executed by the entire team. Excellent service really stands out as it is rarer to find these days. Only disappointment is that we received two small pours for our wines by the glass. The wine list is limited but has some nice French and California options. We enjoyed our wine but the pours were smaller than the norm for the price. Writing this review and thinking about last night's meal makes me look forward to our next visit!
Cute and cozy place, food was delicious. We’ll definitely be back.
