I've ordered a couple sandwiches from there and they have been pretty good. But the price, over $16 for a SANDWICH??! That's too much for me. I could get a bigger sandwich at Subway for half the price. Also, their menu is hard to interpret and is lacking information. View all feedback.
What K Kastle doesn't like about Genova Delicatessen:
Beware with catering-not a good experience for us. Price list posted on web site totaled for $294 for our order. When I finally spoke to the owner two days before the party he said he couldn’t do it for less than $550! OK, what could I do? He did lower it to $500, but when the food came the fancy bread baskets were replaced with a bunch of sliced regular bread. $120 worth of fancy bread traded for a few simple loaves... I was somewhere in town to see someone about something and somewhat puzzled when I saw the Genova Delicatessen. We've got a Genova Delicatessen in Napa, and I had no idea there were others. Well I bounced the Ram over the road divider like it was nothing and pulled right in like I owned the place. At the counter the skinny girl asked what I'd like and I told her I'd like the fat guy to make me a sandwich.
Tasty sandwiches and salads!! Just wish the wait was less... but worth it!!
Come in, grab a number and just be prepared to wait. The line at this place is always crazy, but I promise you it's worth it! The sandwiches are delicious. My favorite is the Italian combo. Their sourdough rolls are fresh and have just the right amount of chew. They have lots of other Italian grocery items in the shop; cookies, canned items, pasta, oils and vinegars. Grab a foccacia to take home for dinner. They're brought in daily from a bakery in the city.
Delicious sandwiches, had a little bit of a wait but well worth it. Some of the best sandwiches in Walnut Creek
Probably the best Italian Deli in the WHOLE Bay! Too bad the one in Oakland closed down, miss that place!
