The Bee - Wall Township

It's been a while since I've been in this particular Applebee's location. This place was called Cheddars back a few years ago. As with most chains, I do not get my hopes up too much. They have a two-for-one special for $20. That's great. Got a mixed salad and a lemon chicken entree , rice topped w/cilantro and potato flakes. Yes, they were in the form of flakes. Very good. The only problem was our server. She probably was having a bad day. We had to ask for our utensils. She served us the food and bolted away hurriedly. I could not figure out why, since the place was not crowded. When I asked for some extra fresh cilantro, it seemed she was annoyed and another server brought it over. The coup de grace was she gave us the wrong change. When accosted, she returned and slammed the deficit on the table. That's a No No! We spoke with the Mgr. food 3 stars Service 1star.

I have been going to Applebee's in Eatontown since I was 13. Lots of ups and downs it's an Applebee's My expectations are not that high. So when we were in the area and realized it was after 10 and we were hungry we stopped in. We walked in and no one was there. Literally no one. We said hello a few times. Walked through the restaurant and not a sole to be found. Stuck my head into the bar and there was a lay wiping down the bar. I said hello and she grunted to acknowledge us, a waitress came around the corner (she must have been in the kitchen) and sat us. The whole restaurant did have a dirty kitchen kind of smell. The table in the empty dining room she sat is as was dirty and she wiped it down as she took our drinks. The waitress was pleasant enough although the sofa was flat. My wife got a burger and I got appetizers. Her burger was way over cooked and the buffalo wings way under some were still cold. It's a chain where food is essentially microwaved so I get it's not gone cuisine but palatable would be awesome. Disappointing experience to be sure, worth the drive to another Applebee's if you want the half price menu, won't be back to this one. Sorry guys.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We have been going to this location for years! The servers have come and gone as well as the management. However, we go because it 's never crowded and we get seated with a big party quickly. Tonight was the end. Party of 8. After we ordered, they came to tell us that they ran out of three of our dishes. We literally waited one hour before we got our food. That was after tracking down the manager and asking her for help. The place was empty! Four tables at most. Drinks stayed empty for a good 40 mins. After complaining to the manager, the food came to the table. I thought for sure the manager would give us a complimentary app or dessert because that 's good business.... nope nothing except thank you for your patience. Never again! Too many other local dives to explore.

0 star rating!! Left here tonight in utter disgust! Apparently there was some mess in the bathroom where the entire staff, including the manager found to be quite hilarious as they displayed in their laughter coming in and out of the bathroom passing our table numerous times while we were sitting in a booth closest to the bathroom! Despicable. Refused to pay the bill for having lost our entire appetite. Manager almost looked as though he found it quite funny when I told him my intentions of not paying which wasn't shocking as he was the one in and out of the bathroom with the rest of them!! What a disgrace to the neighborhood. We don't need chains in our nice town. Locals MANY BETTER CHOICES as we well know!!! Was hesitant to go in from the start, should have followed with my initial gut instinct!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
